Of course battery voltage is not an ideal indication of the state of battery charge.
Agree. We find our cheap, ten year old, plug-in battery monitor is never off the Victron 712 battery monitor reading by more than .1 volt.

For a true reading, SOC, you should wait until 2-4 hours after the sun goes down. Although nothing is perfect.

Enjoy,

If the battery is in decent condition and you know the approximate temp of it, voltage at rest (!) gives a very good charge state indication

Solar Power bank

This seems to work fine if you are challenged installing 12v ports, inverters etc. The solar panel can charge this battery bank and then you can plug in your phones etc to charge them 240 watt hours. $150 on Amazon.
