I would think it would because the table is supported by the rails, so if it is not in the detents I would think it does't matter. I wonder if the pedestal would want to lift if not in the detents? I hope somebody out there has already made the conversion.

As the Dicor pedestal uses detents to stop and hold it, there is no stopping in between, unless like I mentioned, you drilled new detents. Otherwise the spring pushed it up to the next stop.

I wonder if the weight of somebody sleeping on it would hold it down. Or in my case it would be our 60lb lab would be using as a bed so I can kick her out of ours>

Well, if you wanted to try, I might be willing to sell the one I have at a good price.

So if I'm reading this right, the Dicor has three preset adjustments and without modification of some kind that's it. The Springfield is some kind of clamp system that can be set to any height to the limit of the extension

Yeah, it is a little strange- most pneumatic chairs & stools let you stop where you want with the lever. Dicor doesn't mention this fact unfortunately on their website.
They don't make the pedestal- it is imported from Italy. The slide looks pretty sweet though.

I installed the Springfield pedestal before our last trip. So much better than trying to use the post system.

Our sleep configuration is that dad gets the dinette side, and the wife & younguns get the comfy bed with memory foam (they're young and need more space for tantrums and toys). So I was appreciative of the much easier setup/takedown of the bed with the Springfield.

I was all set to order the Dicor, but they are apparently bent on making the purchase as painful as possible. Several emails, several calls, voicemails. Talked to a woman and I asked 'who can I talk to if I want to give you money?' and I still wasn't able to purchase one, because the single person able to take my money was unavailable.

Ended up with the Springfield pedestal, retained the original table's slider. Saved some money, but got the functionality I wanted

Was that Cathy? When I called to order I was transferred to her as I was a retail customer. She didn't know anything about the product and wanted to end the call. Said I had the part numbers and she relented. Then, when I called back a couple days later when I didn't see a charge on my credit card she said "who is this?" in an exasperated tone. Unbelievable, but for Dicor unfortunately true. Seems they primarily deal with RV MFGs, but insist on keeping this item "in-house" vs. other outlets like Amazon, Overton's etc. but don't have the proper means to deal with retail customers.

We had the same issues when we inquired about the Dicor Brian. Turns out I'm very happy with the Springfield though, and it's very versatile, with the ability to set the height to whatever I want and also rotate it.

Another quick mod today- swapped out the plastic faucet for a Peerless Stainless Steel one. Same type, drop in with 1/2" fittings and the water mixing inside the escutcheon, so no center hole to drill or fittings to add. Took about 3 minutes to replace and I think it looks much nicer. Here's a photo of new and old.

Peerless P299568LF-SS Choice. Bought on Amazon. There are lots of more fancy models, but I wanted a direct replacement with no tools or mods.

Didn't think to Pat, but it literally is just a matter of unscrewing the water lines, removing the nuts that hold the faucet down, then pull the old one out and put the new one in. Took all of 3 minutes, no tools.
