When I worked, they used to say a neat and organized 'desk' was the sign of a sick mind....Probably doesn't apply to a workshop

Used to be assigned to photograph executives for the business section. CEO would start cleaning off their desk until I pointed out to them that a clean desk indicated that they had nothing to do.

Selective cropping

My shop is a constant state of chaos. I have a beautiful solid maple 2' x 7' workbench. When it gets so covered with misc. debris and the worktop is no longer visible I start to feel guilty and actually clean it up a bit. Usually shuffle stuff higher and deeper until at least half the bench top is visible.

So you bent it in the difficult direction! I would have guessed the other way.

Following Myron's lead, I went out and grabbed a piece for a test. It is much easier to bend around a vertical tube (such the Myron's front box corners) with the corrugations running vertically, and it could readily bend it without kinking around a large radius (I used a round fender of a utility trailer) in either orientation. With a smaller test radius of about 20 cm (8") around a small tire, it was difficult to avoid kinking with the corrugations vertical, and took more effort but bent more smoothly with the corrugations horizontal. This was about 4 mm (5/32") thick material, sold for signage.

This stuff is typically polypropylene, which is a thermoplastic, so it would form around curves more easily and more smoothly if warmed.

Left and right closeups of ridge direction. I was paying close attention to potential for kinking or creases but to my surprise it never became an issue. I think attempting to heat the material would likely be a disaster due to uneven warpage.

My corner radiuses were so beautiful, until that day of the jack-knife.
