I thought they were both of the same set up?

You are correct, Jim, they are the same unit just taken with different cameras under different light.
Lynne (Tim's wife) told me that she was a bit surprised to see that the stripes on the side cushions appear horizontal while the back is vertical. However, it is normal to sew it this way. It does, however, make the side cushions look smaller and thus, the whole dinette does not appear as deep as it would with a solid fabric. I still loved the look of this, though, as I am also a fan of the "beachy" look.
Now, my 2 cents since Donna is struggling with this decision. You are going to live with this for a long time so that should come into a decision about stripes. Muddy paws would definitely be another factor. Personally, for myself, I would choose a neutral tone, tweed type fabric that will not show dirt or small stains as clearly. Then I would be free to change things up with a punch of color (teal, red, rust, green, etc.) in throw pillows, a blanket, maybe even some slip covers over the cushions. I like flexibility in decorating rather than being locked into one look. Again, this is MHO only.
Just think about what you want to see for a long time as recovering the cushions can be expensive if you make a mistake in your choice. Stay with the Sunbrella fabric, though, it is great.

Thanks Rosemary for your thoughts. I've got four more samples of Sunbrella coming from Sailrite. Stay tuned...

I see a new profession in Donna's future- "Escape Chic" custom upholstery design.

Donna,
I'm sure whatever you pick will be great! I did notice that the cushion arrangement has changed over the years. Our 2008 5.0 has a u-shaped dinette but the side bench cushions cover the entire side and the back bench cushion is the short one - only as wide as the table. Also the back bench back cushion is just padding over some kind of panel for stiffening. The side bench back cushion is split into a long and a short cushion. Obviously there have been changes since then.
So, the cushion arrangement might affect your choice...do you know what the new 5.0TA will have?
BTW, I agree with the suggestion of solid bottoms if you plan to do striped back cushions.

Since the new 5er is based on the 21', I'm thinking the u-shape dinette will be the same for both models.
I spent some time yesterday in Dave&Kathie's new 21' That big dinette table sure is tempting......

Yes, but the "U" is so inviting…old guns vs butter dilemma, eat or rest

If they did, I would like to have a refresher if some are available too.

No, not yet, just slow. You have to remember it took them five days to get home from the factory... and it is only a six hour drive . I'll send a message to Kathie....

We had a blast coming home from the factory. Stayed near Bellingham one day then took the Port Townsend ferry and stayed at Ft Worden. Had to wait for a herd of elk to cross Hwy 101 on our way home! Have already shown the trailer to a lovely couple (John and Joanne) from Virginia and we had a great open house. Lots of our fellow campers and friends came by to see it - all rave reviews. Will post pics later this eve.

I'll post just a few pics here since it's about the dinette and upholstery. We love the standard dinette. There's plenty of room for 4 people and it's still very cozy. We really like the BIG table (which slides to let you in). Great place to hang out too - one evening Dave & I put our feet up (facing the window) and watched a movie on the Ipad. Will post more pics once we get them organized and downloaded.

Gorgeous...love the colors! Is that the same laminate as in onetim's rig? I've seen his and it's beautiful, too.

Well, both of those photos of stripes look good, no matter the light!
That blue counter is something. I take it the table is the same blue.

Kathie,
I notice a wooden stove cover, is there a stove cover that comes with the stove also?

Looks great, Kathie.
One thing I am curious about with the U-shaped dinette (for those that have it), is how is the legroom for four people with the reduced floor space?

...and can you get four place settings on the smaller table?

Legroom for 4 - not so good. Not one of my necessities; if needed one could put a folding chair in the aisle. I don't have the table installed; putting my feet up after a day of hiking was WONDERFUL.

That table looks sooooo big. a lot bigger than the 19' Escape. You may need 3 people to take it down into travel mode. Nice looking unit though.
