Sunbrella choices
Hi All ! My DH & I have put our deposit on our new 19' due November 23rd! We are complete newbie with RV'ing and very excited about what the future holds for us. I have messages a couple of others on this forum about fabric choices and am curious about what others have chosen for their trailers. if you have any advice or suggestions I would love to hear or see pictures..Thanks , Cheers. Re: Sunbrella choices
The sky is the limit, Janet. I don't think you can go wrong if you go to a fabric shop and buy a good upholstery fabric. This is what we did, and sent it to Escape. Not sure what you mean by the Sunbrella in your header though.

Re: Sunbrella choices
Hi Janet,
Congratulations! The fun is just beginning
The fabric we chose was not Sunbrella. When we visited the factory Dave said many people do, but he does not believe it makes a difference as long you choose good quality upholstery fabric. We visited two fabric shops (Victoria)and fairly easily found a fabric that we love.
It was harder to pick the formica because I knew that the colour of the walls and blinds would make a difference. We chose several samples of formica that went nicely with the fabric, then made another trip to visit the factory again. Seeing the fabric in the trailer, with the colours of the wall/blinds/floor made it pretty obvious which was the best choice (surprisingly not the one we would have thought!)
I'd post pics, but we don't pick up our unit until Oct 2.
Of course not everyone will have the luxury of doing it the way we did, but it sure worked well for us.
Good luck! Keep us posted on the progress with your choices.
Rosemary

Re: Sunbrella choices
We had Tammy mail us sample pieces of the wall vinyl, cabinetry, and flooring to help choose the laminate and fabric.

Found this older thread and thought I'd try and keep ideas together by posting here.
I'm really starting to have doubts about my fabric choice. I've got a pretty healthy credit at Sailrite when I put a stop to my order. That came AFTER I pretty much decided I wanted a u-shape dinette in the 5er. While I really do like the fabric I chose, I'm wondering if stripes are a good choice for a u-shape. I worry about my eyes when viewing that area. Hummmm. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, this is my original post on the fabric: Donna D's choice of fabric
Does anyone know where an image may be hiding here on the Escape Forum of a u-shape dinette with stripped fabric? I've searched...

Hi: Donna D... I think onetim has a striped fabric Ushaped dinette in his new 5.0. Very nice trailer if I don't say so myself. Seamstress took a pic of it at the Copake N.Y. rally. Alf http://www.downtheroadwithme.com

Donna, I do really like that fabric, but agree that it might be a bit much expanding around a U-shaped dinette. Have you considered using it for the backrest cushions, and going with a solid fabric for the seats? That would lessen the amount of stripes, and avoid the stripes going in two different directions.

Can't say I like that... I do think it would be improved with Jim's suggestion of solid colour on the seats.

I agree solid seats with striped backs would be my choice. I do like stripes because they give many color choices.

I like the stripes, but I think a darker toned matching color would look great with your original fabric pick for the back cushions!

Y'all can blame Sally for my indecision . She send me pics of her u-shaped dinette in her new 21' and it looks elegant. I don't want mine to look like a Carnival Fun House

Donna,
Here's another shot of our 5.0. Lynne wanted a beach cottage look... I had absolutely no say in the fabric or Formica colors as I'm color-blind.

Both of those sets of stripes look so nice.
If anyone doesn't want their brown shades, I'll be glad to trade!

Well, I love the beach look. If I didn't have to worry about muddy piggies, mine would have been sunbrella yellow and white stripes with Granny Smith green throw pillows. And probably yellow Formica. I like cheerful and summer.
