It's bolted on and for those of us that are visual people... it's off center to the trailer and frame

I tried this and it worked! I now have a snug fit of the pipe to the antenna mast. Thanks for the idea.

As for having someone monitor me as I drive around, I might get a chance to do this before I leave Wednesday on a trip. Otherwise I'll stop often to check the mast during the first leg of the trip.

Thanks again.

A good idea. If your mast has more than a few lbs mounted on top you might be surprised how much it moves, no matter how well it is secured at the base. I monitored my setup by tilting my rear view camera (mounted with VHB tape, which is a good option if you don't want mounting holes in your roof). While it held for several thousand miles, it still made me a bit uncomfortable with how much it swayed.

Now, my fiberglass mast is 2" diameter. The antenna is almost 3ft long and bulky, so it's very top heavy. I think a lighter antenna should eliminate the sway. You have to find the right balance for your equipment.

Yep, works fine. I can use it for my flag pole or my Jack antenna.

What's with the exclamation mark? Like there was some doubt? If it's ever a little too tight to pull out easily, just putting a screwdriver blade in and turning a bit will free it.

I think it's a good set-up and easier to use than mine. But motion and wind buffeting can set up some unknown actions at the right harmonic so it would definitely be good to get some feedback on what it does or doesn't do at highway speeds. Happy travels.

The WireEng antenna works!

I'm currently on a trip and have driven a few hundred miles after installing my new antenna mast mount. It seems to be pretty secure; I haven't had any problems. So far, so good.

Tonight at a campground in Kentucky I was unable to connect to Verizon wireless with my hotspot. I got a "1X", i.e. no data, and I couldn't connect to the campground wifi either. So I raised the mast, connected the WireEng cellular antenna to my Wilson Sleek amp, and put the hotspot in its cradle. My signal strength went from 1X to 2-3 bars with 4G service. Good!

Always nice to get some positive feedback that shows the mod was worth doing.
