TV mounted on a swingarm in a 21

I wanted to mount the biggest TV possible in the available area. After a lot of web searching, measuring and testing with a cardboard template I wound up with a 24 inch Samsung mounted on a MonoPrice 10476 Full-Motion TV & Monitor Wall Mount Max 77 lbs, 23 42 inch available at Outlet PC MonoPrice 10476 Full Motion TV Mount | $29.98

The reinforced wall, electrical receptacle and cable jack were provisioned at ETI. I used stainless steel bolts with lock nuts & washers to install the mount so it will never pull out or loosen. You have to remove the microwave for access. I also had to trim the mounting plate to allow access to the TV jacks. It was not a problem as the TV used other fastener locations for the VESA pattern. I taped a rubber bumper to the arm to prevent it from hitting the thermostat. The TV can be viewed from either end of the trailer. Once the layout is done it's an easy install.

How much does that tv weigh and are you planning on removing it during travel?

I like the location with one exception - the thermostat being behind the TV will mess up the temperature control when the TV is retracted. The TV vents heat right at the top rear of the set - that extra heat will increase the temp reading and cause the rest of the trailer to be cooler than the setpoint. My guess is that the thermostat needs to be relocated or the TV only operated while extended.

I thinking about replacing the Escape Temp control with a Honeywell 8000 with remote sensor. I can then place the temp sensor in the best position for control.

If I recall my thermostats, that one in the picture is the new digital style that needs a special attachment in the a/c unit to operate, in other words those without such can attachment not upgrade from the older mechanical style. Not sure the Honeywell will work.

The outputs of the 8000 are contact outputs - the same as the mech ones. I've installed then on a number of systems and never had a problem.

I looked up the new Dometic digital tstat - yep, it's different. The 8000 will replace the mech tstats easy but would require some rewire to replace the Dometic digital one.

My apologies to the OP - this thread seems to taken a turn. I really like the location of your TV mount. Now if I can just figure out how to fix the tstat problem.

Jim, the TV weighs 9 lbs I use a canopy tarp tie looped around the arms when towing. I've left it attached while towing. In the forum I see some remove a TV when towing some don't. So far no problem with this setup.

Tex, the articulated arm allows us to extend the TV straight forward to the end of the counter top so there isn't any problem with the thermostat.
