Here are two mods that I did to my 19' Escape.
When I first got the Escape, the table was free to move about when traveling. Later, while having the tongue storage box installed, the good folks at Escape installed a screw setup that locks the table in place. This setup works well, but over time the screw digs into the underside plywood. I removed the screw setup and installed a latch. It was a simple install and does the job of holding the table in place while traveling while not damaging the plywood.
The second mod was to install pads on the stabilizers. These pads significantly increased the contact area of the stabilizers with the ground when compared to the small contact area of the stock stabilizers -- and the stock stabilizers are a heck of a lot better than the Atwood stabilizers that were on my Casita! I used to carry 4x6 wood blocks to go under the stock stabilizers but didn't like the weight of the blocks and, more importantly, storing wet and dirty wood blocks. Now with the pads I can just lower the stabilizers. If the need does arise, I'll use one or two of the plastic "lego" blocks under the pad(s). These "lego" blocks are lightweight and a simple hosing is all that is required to clean them.
Both Mods were quick to do. I got both the latch and pads from
www.fiberglasstraveltrailersrv.com, with excellent service and good prices.
