Hope to have a U sometime as I know it would be more comfortable than now, the way we use that area, and I find the table a little big so wouldn't mind that change either. The table is also unwieldy and that would improve.

Additional 12" of space in hallway/entry area with table pushed toward front of trailer!!!
It is significant when entering or leaving the trailer.
We have 19' TT.
Ours is pushed forward toward hitch 95% of time. Only time it is not, is when a second couple visits & we sit around table.
We usually sit with backs in corner, legs extended to lounge, read or watch TV. We use wire & mesh back supports ($10 from Bed, Bath, Beyond) and a pillow in corners.
Smaller table has plenty of room for two people to eat or compute.
It was a last minute decision after build began ( like four hours before standard table would be put in).
For us, it is one of best options we chose!
You do get extra storage under seat in front of trailer.

Yes, I always struggled a little with that big table in the 19' and inserting the tubes by myself, the smaller " U" table is a lot more " user" friendly!!

Definitely a personal choice. The only change I plan to make at some point is to change the table support to a hydraulic style. More expensive but much easier I think. This one also has some appeal if the clearances are good and it's much less money:

I have this leg system I have had in my Boler for over 2 years, and Reace has a second set that he will install in my 19' which is going into production soon.
In my Boler these legs lift a 36"x36" 3/4" thick table and I only need one hand to do it, no fighting with posts or lifting tables

This is the table support we have had since day one on our 15. Since we have to convert dinette to bed every night we couldn't do without it.

We have a 19' with the U-shaped dinette and love it ... but it's all a matter of personal taste. Some of our 'likes':
- Love the look
- Having the table slide front to back gives us a little more maneuvering room when entering/leaving the trailer
- We've seated four adults and two children around it during a thunder storm (the kids love the two corners to cuddle in)
- Our dogs like their bunk beds when the table is in the down position (one above so she can stretch out and one on the floor where he snuggles in his 'cave')
- There seems to be a little more storage under the benches
- T.V. watching. We have our T.V. on a swing arm, mounted on the wall by the refrigerator. Because of the short reach on the arm, the person sitting at the table on the driver's side can't see the screen clearly so we remove the table in order to utilize both the passenger side bench and back bench to see the screen.
