Is reinforcing wall #6 necessary for the installation of a shower grab bar / safety rail . When we did homes /apartments for the physically handicapped reinforcement / blocking was installed to help anchor the rails , grab bars or anything that was used for supporting & assisting the handicapped . In commercial bathrooms blocking was installed to anchor sinks , towel dispensers , toilet paper holders , etc .
From my experience 5mm paneling would only be suitable for supporting light objects that are not subject to loading.

If leaning on a wall causes it to give, imagine what a grab bar would do. I would say yes to reinforcement if you are adding support devices in the shower.

I'd say yes, that was the wall I did in BlackJack and I installed a towel/grab bar in the bath room and a grab bar on the bed side and the screws were quite long. If need be one could go through the wall and attach a backer plate on the bed room side for extra strength. But, of course no one expects a handicapped accessible bath in an Escape.

wall reinforcement

We have the Tele mounted on the corner of the bath/bed wall where there is the corner support. We can see it quite well from the bed and from the dinette. When traveling we swing it against the wall, protected by a small blanket and a bungee cord holds it tight to the wall.

Do you have the Escape arm and did they install it?

We took the tv with us to Chilliwack and ETI mounted it on the closet wall facing the bed while we were in the office spending more money. You can watch it from the dinette or bed. But we do pack it in the original box when traveling. Loren

I expect that yours is the standard placement.

Since we've gotten the 5.0TA we always pack a weeks worth of everything, food, clothes, water, etc., with room to spare. Well, except for truck fuel. Kind of nice only needing to stop once a week.

FWIW, If I were picking up my trailer at ETI I'd forgo reinforcing the walls and have ETI install everything you might want mounted at pickup, if they still do such. Having ours delivered, and not knowing what I want mounted, much less where, I had some walls reinforced. I'm pretty bad at hitting studs in the walls first try, they never seem to put them where I want them to be.

To me the weight was no concern, the truck doesn't care if it's pulling 4400 or 4430 lbs.

Finding the studs is easy. $20. Having the stud exactly where you need it - not so easy.

I've got one of those, shows me the edges of the studs in different spots nearly every time. Some show as 2 1/2" thick, some times 3/4". Time for the row of holes with a 4 penny nail, they never lie.

I use a 10mm round magnet. It finds the colored staples every time.

A handy thing I keep in my wood finishing toolbox. Great for finding hidden fasteners in all kinds of places.
