Where do you keep your toothbrush?

About a month ago we put a down payment on a 19'. We are so excited! Now we are mulling over options and modifications and have spent much time going over the very helpful posts here.

Now I am considering storage. Where do you store toothbrush, shampoo, soap, etc. I am guessing that some get those plastic caddies with suction cups. Do they stay attached? Are there any other suggestions? Could a medicine cabinet work?

We wrestled with the same question. I decided to put those items in a plastic container
and store that in the bottom of the wardrobe next to the bathroom. Hence, I had the hinges for the wardrobe mounted on the left side for easier access from the bathroom. I ordered the combination station for the bathroom to hold these items also.

We bought the combination station from Escape. It has suction cup toothbrush, soap dish and shampoo etc basket.

We went the suction cup route first and ended up changing over to Command products.

We haven't picked up our 19' yet, but ordered a drawer at the bottom of the closet. We may keep our "bathroom stuff" there. From our experience with a pop up trailer, we know that it takes a while to find the right place for everything.

We haven't had our 21 very long so I can't answer many user questions, but the toothbrush/toothpaste/Dixie cup holder is easy. We put it in the bathroom above the sink. I think the rest of the bathroom gear will be stored in the cubbies, which is an option in the 21.

One of the slickest mods I've seen recently is the addition of shelving under the bathroom sink. A curtain was hung from the bottom lip of the sink to finish the look. For those that are members of the CasitaForum, check it out: http://www.casitaforum.com/invboard/...-my-first-mod/

This mod is on my "to do" list. With a bathroom that's small, I don't want to hang a bunch of stuff on the walls.

Jim, I'd love to share the source of the cup/brush/toothpaste holder, I just can't remember where I got it. I purchased it in 2008 and installed it in our Casita. After searching for a source and failing, I replaced it with another device in the Casita and moved it over to our new 21. I'll keep looking, and if I find it I'll post it's location. I can't believe an item that's so useful is out of production. Maybe someone else who's better at researching items could search in a different way\? There are no markings on it at all to indicate it's manufacturer, so that's no help.

I've appreciated the thoughts on this. I am wondering if a medicine cabinet is feasible. What I'd love is something like what I saw in a PleasureWay wet bath (1st image). I know the showerhead holder and light are kind of in the way. I took a picture holding a small box in a 19' Escape (2nd image). Just to see if a small cabinet might fit. I am not sure it would work and it's been challenging finding something that would work for a small wet bath.

I carry a toiletry bag similar to this Amazon.com: Lewis N Clark Hanging Toiletry Case: Clothing that I got at IKEA. I hang it open on the inside of the door after I set up, then close it up and throw it on the bed while traveling.

I'm liking the idea of a medicine cabinet. Lots of plastic ones available that could be surface mounted.

Alice, I am with you on keeping my toiletries in a bag. We put up a toothbrush holder and a little basket, but if we are in a campground that has facilities we use them for showering etc. A bag is nice to have because I can grab my bag and a towel and have everything I need to make myself look reasonably presentable. I also keep a few quarters in m toiletry bag for the occasional campground that charges for showers.

We both use toiletry bags as well, but I had this little shelf made to keep other bathroom stuff handy. It's mounted with strong tape.

I have suction baskets with drain holes that are mounted on the driver's side wall under the sink. I keep waterproof items (toothpaste tubes, shampoo bottles, etc.) there and they mostly stay dry. I have a suction toothbrush holder for the kids. Works for us.

Believe it or not...there is some suggestion that keeping your toothbrush uncovered and close to your toilet is unhealthy. Every time you flush, you contaminate your brush with micro germs from in and around your toilet.

And, it doesn't help when your toothbrush falls on the floor in transit.

You are correct, if the lid is up. There is a You tube video that is scary.

Kids don't flush (at least when someone is nearby) without the lid down!

Actually lately (in the past 3 years) we keep all toothbrushes elsewhere.
