Why replace the sink
Since I am so new and just saw the Escapes one afternoon at a rally, I really don't remember much about the kitchen sink, so I was wondering why so many replace the sink? Is it too small? What is the size of the sink and what sink do people replace it with? And what about the faucets are they easy to wash a decent size pot?

Some prefer the optional stainless steel version (extra charge) to the factory standard white porcelain one. Strictly a personal choice, that's all, I think. The standard faucet swings away so there is no issue with room for pot cleaning.

I changed the sink because my coffee cup wouldn't fit in the itty bitty one

Donna, that must be decaf because your hair doesn't look like you stuck your finger in an electrical outlet!
Love it. If it were me, I would be able to restrict myself to two cups per day. LOL!

My doctor said one cup, he just didn't say what size.
I think there's several of us now that have put in the Franke Prep sink.
Franke USA FrankeUSA 20-Gauge Single-Basin Drop-in or Undermount Stainless Steel Bar Sink
You can get an idea of the size of the sink from this picture with my coffee cup.

There's certainly some nice sinks owners have installed. I chose this one because the faucet sits on the lip and it's big enough I can get my elbows inside the sink when I wash my hair... can't do that in the bathroom sink . I have the standard bar sink in my Scamp and yes, while it works as it's supposed to... I slop water everywhere. No more... and that's what's nice about an ETI custom built trailer. You can get what you want
Come on folks... show Nancy what you got.

Cant speak for the rest of the mob but we're going with a larger bar sink that incorporates holes for a pullout faucet and a soap dispenser. The standard sink is just that, and the faucet is located in holes drilled into the counter top. We've had the standard setup for 3 1/2 years and honestly, it was ok, but CarlaJean and Ned showed us their one piece sink and it's seems cleaner (meaning tidy cleaner, not sanitary cleaner). It appealed to my inner neatnik.

We went with an optional double bowl sink and stayed with the default faucet. Went with the double bowl cause that's what Deb wanted and it's her kitchen. The faucet is okay but pretty cheap and flimsy. I asked Deb if she wanted me to change it and got a no, so the original stays.

Because we can!
Seriously, the stock one would work just fine, but folks like me prefer to jazz things up at bit, albeit at a higher cost. Some like sinks bigger, to have more room, but have a smaller sink uses less water, meaning your fresh water might last longer, and you will use less propane heating it up, but you could always use a dish pan in a larger sink to save water. A larger sink takes up more valuable counter space too. No one good way to go for everyone, that's for sure. :

We went with the stainless steel sink when Tammy mentioned to us that many people who order the oven (black enamel range top) prefer the stainless steel to the white enamel sink because of the colour thing. So we got the stainless sink. Being a man from mars I didn't get it, and still don't!

Like Donna, we chose to have a sink where the faucet sits on top of the sink, and not on the counter. The sink we chose this a bar prep hammered steel sink and we are quite happy with it. The size is adequate for us, and many times we use our collapsible dishpan that sits on the sink for times when the campsite has dish water disposal dumps at the sites, thereby keeping the level of our gray water down.

I believe the 2017 models will have a stainless sink as standard and the faucet has changed to one with a pull out. Tammy posted a photo of it within the past few months. As to which thread - heck if I know.
Of course nothing will be confirmed until they upload photos of the interior of a new 2017 model.
