Wireless BackUp Camera - Tadi Brothers

We own a 2016 E21 "Classic" model and had ETI provide and install a wireless Tadi Brothers backup camera. It works ok, but often times I have lots of interference and the screen sometimes goes black. The ETI install wasn't very optimal since the wireless transmitter is hooked up to camera and power in the rear overhead cabinet in the dinette. This kinda bugs me for three reasons:

1) The camera transmitter is just laying loose in the overhead cabinet where it gets jostled and covered up by whatever we choose to store there.
2) No wiring "slack" was provided so I can't move the transmitter without cutting wires. For example, I could velcro it to the side of the rear cabinet.
3) The transmitter is so far away from the receiver in the tow vehicle (40+ feet).

I am thinking of running new wiring through the rear and passenger side overheads and properly mounting the camera transmitter in the cabinet above the "stripper pole" behind the exterior light switches.

Anyone else tried this? Wondering if it will provide better reception and give the transmitter a proper mount.

Thanks.

I have a 2014 -21 that came with probably the same TADI setup. I abandoned the power supply wires in the back end and added a longer video cable to relocate the transmitter under the shelf over the bed at the front of the trailer; picked up power/ground from under the bed wiring (and tied into the marker light for power.) I tucked the wiring behind the vertical padding on the drivers side.

Thanks for the response Charlie.
- Did your reception improve?
- Assume that you routed the video cable through the drivers side cabinets. Is that correct?

Reception is now perfect - it's only 10 feet between transmitter and receiver (mounted to truck rear window with VHB tape) with no metal between the two. I did run the wire through the lower drivers side cabinets by routing the video down behind the corner padding at the dinette.

A couple of additional questions:
- Did you buy the RCA/Power extension cables direct from TADI or did you make your own? I ask because I am thinking that I could splice the power in the rear cabinet direct into the camera power. This would eliminate the need to run a second cable through the trailer to the relocated transmitter.
- How did you make the cable "jump" from the lower drivers side cabinets to the area under the bed?

Thanks!

I just bought the long video extension cabling. It had to go all the way to the new transmitter location. Will take some routing pics after Xmas when I get home.

Maybe through here?

I've made long RCA cables. There are connectors readily available.

That wire bundle runs along the the underside of the wall blocking, and over the wheel wells all the way up to the front drivers corner.
