19- rear window issues!
we have a 19 and the freaking curb side rear window opens to the wrong side. why would you design it so any water running off the roof runs right into the open window ?? The awning channels the water right into the open window. If this window opened on the forward side, instead of the aft side this would not be a problem. I'm thinking of changing out the window!
our experiences: 1. left the window open and went for a hike. It rained. ALL the water off the roof drained into the corner of the bed. (wife's side) rule 1- don't leave w/o closing window. 2. sleeping at night with the window open. it rains. you know cuz your head and pillow get soaked. 3. ran air conditioner for a while before bed. decided to turn off the conditioner and open the window. as we settled into bed we must of set off the balance just enough that a boatload of condenser water came splashing down.......on wife's head! rule 2. swap our heads from E/W to W/E.
RRRRRRRRR! Reace: get windows that open the other way!!!!!
a pissed off camper.
BTW- love the trailer. we've been living aboard since April, 15K miles so far. got 2 months and another 5K to go.

Change the window around and the weep holes will be on the inside. Rule number one is if it's raining make certain the awning is deployed or the window is shut. Second rule, do you have any EZ Gutter around the top rear of the window? Sure helps to run roof water around the window.
Reace buys windows as they are manufactured...

Hi: flatpick... Seems to me you got just about every thing right. Plan B. Make sure it always happens on your wife's side of the bed!!! Changing out the window would be only slightly easier than Divorce!!!
Leave the Egress window open and the MaxxFan... then not much chance of wet heads. Alf

We put the EZ gutters on all of the opening windows early this spring as we had some minor dampness after a driving crosswind on a day it rained while traveling last Fall. No further problems. I am not a big fan of getting wet but it does build character. Making sure the weep holes are clear is important too. Things will dry eventually. To us, hey, its camping.

Always tilt a little toward the front and toward the street side, install some gutters, ETI installs a short piece that covers from the awning back and get yourself a weather radio and leave your kitchen awning window open with the MaxxFan on.

It happened to me too. Rain poured in all night but I was snuggled up and didn't realize it until the wee hours when I rolled over into it. We got everything dried out and 2 nights later It didn't look like rain so I left the window open and it happened again. Happy campers? Not at that particular moment.
My rule #1 is window stays closed at night.

Steve With sliding windows you can't have the slider in the front position as this would make it the inside position in the track which when driving forward in the rain would allow water to be forced in between the 2 sealed units.
If you have bypass shower doors try switching their positions and have a shower this will demonstrate the outcome.
As a retired glazier I have dealt with this scenario many times with RVers and equipment operators and once this had been explained to them the "smarter" ones "said" they understood.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Doug is exactly correct, it they are installed with the other way around water will push past the seal between the slider and stationary window while driving. Here is another solution: Drip Edge | Drip Rail | Trim-Lok

OK. I see why the window opens like it does. makes 100% sense! adding a piece of gutter trim a couple inches beyond the awning attachment point makes sense too! THANKS ALL! seems like this would be an EZ add-on in the build.

Hi: flatpick... My 2014 5.0TA has it below the rear of the awning above the window. Another running production change perhaps? Alf
