2010 5.0 Bedroom Window Sticking
Hi folks;
I haven't been on in quite a while...so, of course, I come back when I need help.
The right-side (curbside) bedroom window on our 2010 5.0 is very hard to slide. It's always been a bit more difficult, but now its become a real bear to move. It pulls the screen slider with it when we open it.
I removed the screen slider and the window is just as difficult to move. I also cleaned the tracks thoroughly and, thinking they might be contributing to the problem, tapped the weep holes down a tiny bit (but not so much they are closed).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Dave in Memphis.

I would try a silicon spray, the type that is silent based and dries clear. It works great on the old style awning arms too.

Long time no "C"
Hi: Garand... Rub the track with a little soap bar. Left over chips do well and might be a bit of air freshener too!!! Alf

Hiya, its nice to see familiar "faces!"
I've tried silicon lube, haven't tried soap on the window track yet. I'll give it a shot.
I'm beginning to suspect the whole window frame is a bit warped as its been stubborn since new. If soap doesn't help, I'm going to loosen all the frame screws and see if it comes back to "square."

The pattern
It is amazing how much one can flex flat warped windows and other frames by modifying the screw tightening pattern. I like crc silicone or like I stated the other day Tri Flow with teflon.

I would be afraid that soap would gum up where it can't be cleaned out of. Besides, it is only "Slippery when wet".

2010 5.0 Bedroom Window Sticking
Dave is the window a double glazed unit?
If it is try measuring the thickness of the sealed unit at the edge and compare it to another one that works as it should. You might find that the sealed unit is to thick, therefore causing the binding.
Cheers

Hi: PGDriver... I believe that the insulated double glazed units don't open. Alf

Hmmm.
If the window is double-glazed it might explain why it's hard to open 😉
I'll try loosening the screws and re tightening them this weekend. I finally retired from FedEx three years ago, so you'd think I'd be able to get to it today, but it's amazing how many projects we can find for me to do around the house 🏡
