2015 Highlander & ScanGauge II question

So I have been trying to program an X-Gauge option in my newly purchased ScanGauge II for the transmission temp in our 2015 Highlander 3.5l V6. Found several codes on ScanGauge site to do this. Have not tried every one, but the three I have tried did not work. One was actually coolant temp, others displayed nothing other than the names I gave them. I just contacted ScanGauge through their web site, but not expecting a reply till at least next week and we are headed into the mountains again Monday. Has anyone set up a tranny temp readout on a ScanGauge II for a 2015 Highlander V6? If so, could you share the proper codes with me?

2014 4Runner ScanGauge codes

For our 2014 4Runner 4.0L, the following Xgauge codes work:

txd rxf rxd mth name notes
07E02182 046105820000 3808 00090005FFD8 TFT transmission torque conv temp/degF
07E02182 046105820000 2808 00090005FFD8 TFP transmission pan temp/degF
822AF02138 546180004000 2808 001D0008FF6F TP1 tire pressure #1
822AF02138 546180004000 3008 001D0008FF6F TP2 tire pressure #2
822AF02138 546180004000 3808 001D0008FF6F TP3 tire pressure #3
822AF02138 546180004000 4008 001D0008FF6F TP4 tire pressure #4

Having both transmission pan and torque converter temperatures is very useful, as when the temperatures are the same, the torque converter is locked.

The tire pressures require firmware 4.45 or later.

The website here indicates that the Toyota 3.5L transmission temperatures are different and require firmware 4.22 or later:

txd rxf rxd mth name

0701221AC0 C462051A36C0 3008 00090005FFD8 TF2

Thanks, Bill. Appears I finally have it after six different code combos, finally got it working.

What code ended up working? I'm using Torque on a '15 Highlander and have had a lot of trouble getting transmission temperatures.

Sorry for my late reply, Elliott. We were camping with no WiFi, then busy. Here is what worked:

hello to all I have also been looking for a long time for custom PID for the temperature of the transmission of my tacoma 2016 and today I found in a forum of the torque application the following information I would like to check it works for you I did it and it gives me values of 168 F ° on idle, comment pleace credits to cintakc Z50king torque forum
TFT 1
PID 221627
Min 0
Max 300

Ecuation : (A*459/255+B*1.6/255)-40
Header 701

TFT 2
221628
Min0
Max 300

Ecuation:
(A*459/255+B*1.6/255)-40
Header 701

This might work. There are TorquePro forums that discuss how to enter formulas. There is a formula for each of two sensors.

With our 2014 4Runner, I don't see a transmission temperature of 168 degrees or more unless it's under load.

I did add a Long 4589 transmission cooler, so that's good for maybe a 20-30 degree drop. But I thought the Tacoma has a factory built-in external cooler, whereas the 4Runner did not.

Another data point, the Toyota A750F transmission fill procedure requires idling until the fluid is between 104 and 113 degrees F. For me, it took almost half an hour of idling to get to that temperature.

So I'm skeptical that a Tacoma transmission would idle at 168 degrees F, unless there was prior load.

Bill, This is not my vehicle. I did a cut and paste of the formulas from another site to show what is involved in customizing TorquePro.

I agree with your experience, which matches mine with an 08 4Runner.

Thanks for your analysis.
