Question 21' Escape: exact Belly Band length?

Hi all

Is there any chance that someone who owns a 21' Escape could please go measure the *total* length of the Belly Band?

I'm supplying ETI with a different color than they offer, and they will install mine.

this is the one
RV Trailer camper 1"Vinyl Insert Trim Molding 50' Dark Green | eBay

i can buy a 50' roll, but I want to make sure it'l be more than enough. I read here that 50' is fine for a 19', but of course a 21' is both longer and wider.

thanks

Escape should tell you what they need.

I ask them lots of questions... i figured if anyone with a 21' had a tape measure and 60 seconds i'd get an easy answer.

I'd do the same for anyone here.

Just going by the measurements given on their website, I come up with 49' 4" which means a 50' roll would be pushing it in my opinion. Someone here can come up with the exact measurement to see if you have any wiggle room.

Body length 17' - 4"
Exterior width 7'- 4"
Twice the body length plus twice the body width is Karen's 49'4"... but there's no band on the door, providing a couple feet of margin for error.

A check measurement would be good, and Escape could be asked if an excess is needed for installation.

Thanks Karen - much appreciated.

I came up with similar math ..... Thus the question for a 21' owner.

Plus this thread will be informative for other 21' (and smaller) owners.

ooooh that Green will look great! I went the black body trim and black graphics. Matched the windows, tires and other stuff on my tug. My trailer is called Ten Forward, but all that black... it's almost like "my little black dress."

Looks like 45 1/2 feet would do my 2014....belly band is probably similar on the 2017.

Ooohhhhhh thanks. Super awesome.

The 2017 has a slightly wider door, so that means slightly less belly band...

Plus it is my understanding that the 2017 models got slightly more square, but not wider.

It will be wise for me to double check with ETI but confidence is high that 50' roll would be just fine.

Excellent!

I just re-did my molding on our 21 -- ordered 50 feet, had a few feet left over. Note: make sure you're getting what you want to get. I ordered 50 feet and got sent two lengths of 25 feet. Works okay but not ideal. Good luck going green!

I already knew that it is about 50' because we have three stripes for our trailer. How much Escape wants to do it so they they are not short is another question that only they can answer. I was not about to say 50'.

Yes, I think 50' might be pushing it, too. So I said to ask Escape, not to not bother measuring, which we have done.

We do not decide how much flooring to provide Escape either. They tell you what they need to install it.

Thanks again Paul...

I'm a "measure twice cut once" kind of guy, so I double checked with the always helpful, always responsive, always nice Sarah of ETI,

and I heard back from her yesterday:

"I had someone go and double check the measurements ..... 45.5’ should be enough but perhaps send 50’ just to be sure."

so it is ordered from ebay. I'm really excited. More than I should be.

Now you have it from those who count. Always ask the installer and no one should assume that someone will do it the way another person does. ETI asks for a lot of fabric, for instance, and some people get back quite a few yards. ETI knows what problems they have had and when they might have to re-do part.

Most installers make it a point to tell you what they need because their customers have no idea.

And, of course, we want to see yours when done!!
