5.0 TA question
We finally got the date for our orientation and delivery of our 5.0 TA for July 27, just about 2 months from now. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are getting the stove with an oven and have a question about the drawers in the kitchen. Will there still be two drawers? Is this something we need to request or are two drawers standard?
Thanks for the help.

In the 21' model the 2 drawers was standard with the oven and I believe the 5.0 TA is identical to the 21' from the door rearward.

Yes, you'll get two drawers. They're to the left of the oven. What you lose by having an oven is the cabinet underneath the stovetop.
Exciting times ahead!

I have another question. I'm sure between now and our pick-up date, I'll have plenty more. The bed of our truck is going to be packed to beyond its capacity. Some of the stuff will have to be removed before hooking up to our fifth wheel. Will ETI allow us to leave some of our stuff there for a few hours until we get back with our trailer from Sumas? Has anyone done this?

5.0 TA question
Since you'll have to transfer the gear from the truck to the trailer anyway, why not just do it after your orientation before heading to Sumas? The delivery driver can tow it just as easily loaded as not, and I don't think there will be an issue at the border if the trailer has some of your gear inside vs empty. It also means you don't have to return to ETI - unless you want to.

They didn't allow us to transfer gear at ETI prior to Sumas in Nov. Caused some issue exporting.

According to Sarah, no personal items can be in the trailer when it is imported into the US. We wanted to have our memory foam mattress expanding while we were having orientation but alas, no luck...
I don't know if that's a new policy or not.

Can you not just quickly transfer most of your goods into the trailer at Bob's Burgers & Brew? You don't have to take the time to stow it...just put it on the floor in the trailer. Maybe I'm not thinking this through...

That does change things. I'd do as Karen suggests and just transfer it quickly to the trailer before hooking up.

I wasn't saying that we would have a hard time getting things transferred, even though like dmetz, we will probably be strewing personal belongings in a trail from Maine to BC and still have a ton when we get there.
I was merely wanting to let folks know that they don't allow personal belongings in the trailer across the border.

Just as those following the Oregon Trail did...

We had our 8' truck bed (covered by a BAKFLP tonneau cover) and the extended cab back seat loaded to the gills. Going north and then back south at the Sumas crossing two days later with this load neither the Canadian officer (who was well familiar with ETI) nor the American officer was interested in looking in the truck after listening to our story of our trailer importation. As Karen suggests, we ended up moving everything quickly in the rain to the trailer, storing much of it temporarily on the trailer floor with the aid of the driver and the next person waiting for his trailer in Sumas.

Depending on what all you have and how much stuff and how much time you have to shift it and all that - here's another option that might work for ya. I've not used it, but others on this forum have mentioned it.
A grocery store just across/before the border in Sumas offers storage for those crossing over. This page will give you some information and I'm sure they can supply more if you contact them.
