You should test it while you have hot weather. Open that thing up like you would in the real world.

As we are all looking for a solution, and I have to say...it is awesome to have our own Escape Research Lab for Dometic! Thank you all for continuing to tinker, this info is definitely making it to Dometic.
I did receive a tidbit from the guru's in Germany. Apparently the higher rated fridges have more insulation in the fridge box, especially the door. They are sending me a couple of these doors to try...but unfortunately I don't expect to see the hot days needed to properly test the door this summer. Maybe I can send a door to someone in Texas...if it is still hot there 
It is really great news to find the door leak (thanks Alf) which is a fairly easy fix to gain some cooling. If a better insulated door adds a couple of more degrees...we getting there!

I second that.
By the way, today's high in south central Texas was 98F, with about 75% humidity. Still PLENTY hot if you want to test the door with an Escape owner here.

Actually, the door in the 6.7 seems to be filled solid with foam, these are the doors without the latch slide leak. Perhaps these are already insulated?

Our 6.7 door must be okay. I don't feel cold on the surface. Fridge working GREAT right now...outside temp is 49F. 32 and minus 2 right now on 120V. We all just need more cooling capacity with these fridge, whatever size we have. It really does come down to that. Dometic could have done better without much addtional cost just by upsizing the cooling circuit a little.

It is still hot in AZ. I would be happy to test a door while running on propane - no 110V where I store it.

I have a feeling the doors on the larger 6.7 are already insulated. This is based upon visual inspection and the fact that cold is not transmitted to the exterior plus when the fridge fans are on there is little noise transmitted either.

When my fridge fix fans were installed I could not have slept with them running they were so loud. Along with them driving my temps up it was part of the reason I removed them instead of trying to slow them down and installed the small axial fan that I am using now.
