A real dilemma--used vrs. new

most campgrounds with out hook ups have a dish water dumping area, If we are camping some where without hook ups we don't use the sink in the trailer we do our dishes in a tub outside so as to not fill up the grey tank.

Is not the purpose of the gray tank for sink dish water? Why not use it for it's designed purpose? I agree if there are other facilities available to use them, otherwise why not use the trailer's tank?

One reason that comes to mind would be when dry camping and dump facilities aren't close by (less water to carry out).

We were thinking of a portable waste water tank to supplement the grey tank for those sites where water is available but the dump station is a distance away. Anyone have experience with those? Are they worth the bother?

I made one. Less than $20 and I can pick it up and carry it.

I bought a fully, self-contained trailer for a reason. I got tired of schlepping stuff out of the garage to go camping. The kitchen has everything to cook and clean, why carry duplicates? And people are concerned about keeping weight down while under tow!?

It turns out we decided to live with the 2006 model we bought.

The things that help us decide
it was built to last
It was lower cost
It was well cared for
ETI will be there for us if we have any issues
It had most of the options we wanted

i have no long term feedbck though as we only have had it a few weeks and -25 C is a little too chilly to camp

If you could share I would love to see what was on the list of changes. Especially since I'm guessing that a lot of the changes effect more than just the 17b. Just curious. Thanks

Many State Parks have drains strategically located to pour dishwater in, or a utility sink at the restrooms. Otherwise, we can feed the plants. Don't panic, it's organic. LOL.

here is what tammy sent......

Although, we have made many changes to the 17’ Escape since 2006 the floorplan is still the same. Some immediate differences will be:

- the interior height which is about 1.5” lower than our current interior height.

- The bathroom…does it have the full interior Shower or just the toilet? – If it does have the interior shower you will notice the bathroom door opens in the different direction and the taps are at your feet. There will also be no sink.

- You should also ask about the awning. As there is a very good chance that the trailer will have a ‘bag awning’ and not the current awning.

- You will also notice a difference in the interior color scheme.

These will be the major differences. There will be some other minor differences but they are cosmetic.
