Hi: Zardoz... Haven't met a hill or mountain we couldn't climb yet!!! Certainly not ready to give up my Frontier as a tug either.
Here's a pic at one of the passes cutting through the Rockies to Waterton Lakes National Pk. in Alberta. BTW it was 32*F. up there, and I was in my shorts and sandals!!! Alf

I expect you were cheating Alf. Pressing on the accelerator.

Reace was kind enough to call me this morning to discuss my issue regarding the compatibility of my Frontier and the 5.0TA. Talked about several issues, but the bottom line was, the Frontier would be pushing its limits on hills, but would fare well on the flats. He suggested a Sidewinder extender might work best with the short bed. My conclusion was/is to get a new TV and wait on the TA. My call; he just gave me the facts and his expert opinions. Can't tell you how impressive it is (yet again) to deal with a businessman who is interested in the long game rather than the fast buck. Thanks again to everyone who commented on this thread helping me make my way through this issue.

The Sidewinder certainly solves the cab-to-trailer clearance problem, but invites dynamic issues (control when driving). If you change your mind and consider this, I think it would be worth discussing further... or at least check the previous discussions.
