Awning woes

Hi guys,

After picking up Oliver, our new 17B, from fridge repairs and a replacement on a bum, leaky pump, we now have new challenges with the awning. It appears that the front support, where the bar attaches to the trailer, has cracked, so that the metal peg that allows the bar to swivel upwards, is broken. Among other troublesome things, this makes the awning extremely difficult to retract (as we just found out -- we were a bit worried it wouldn't retract enough for us to move with it, but we finally got it back in).

Additionally, the black nylon pull got out of whack ... it's no longer rolled in properly, so that we couldn't fully open the awning. Not that we want to (see above).

We've used the awning three times, briefly -- so this is a mystery to us. I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar problem, either with a broken support or a out of sync nylon pull cord? I don't know if Reace is back yet but I fear we're going to have to call yet again, and hopefully Oliver will not be out of commission as long as she was for the last round.

Re: Awning woes

Whew, that black strap is to be in the center of the awning not at the end like you got it.
That way when you wind it out and in both ends go evenly. Other wise it will twist.
And that bracket at the bottom is shot you'll need a new one. I would wrap something around it before going on the hi-way, it may pop off.
