Awning won't open
The awning instructions say to turn power in then press extend switvh. I am assuming the button next to the off/on button is the extend switch but nothing happens when I push it. What am I doing wrong ?

There is an/off switch mounted by the door with markings for "on" and "off". Once turned on, you take the remote, there are 3 buttons, one extends, on retracts and one halts operation.

With the power switch, mounted low beside the door, on, press the down arrow on the remote.

I originally failed to see the logic of having to push a "down" button on the remote to extend the awning out. Then I discovered the company also made (and probably originally made) sun shades for office building windows where "Down" resulted in a shade coming down the window to block the sunlight, and "Up" resulted in the shades rolling back up the window to let sunlight in. So now the remote makes more sense to me, "Down" to block the sun, "Up" to let the sun shine in.

Good to hear there's a master switch. When my kids find any remote, all buttons get pushed, pushed often and all at the same time. Don't think there'd be much left to the awning after they were done with it.

Thanks, I was going to relabel mine but your description makes sense I can never remember which button to use. I had a 50/50 chance of hitting it right but usually ended up getting it wrong about 80% of the time.

Our new 21 is being built, so I haven't seen the new awning yet. Can it only be operated by the remote, or are there hard-wired switches also?

Just for completeness, there is a hard-wired kill switch located just inside the entry door, on the lower portion of the galley side wall - easy to reach while standing outside the trailer door. Then deploy and retract function by remote only. There is a little plastic holder for the remote stuck on the side of the galley overhead cabinet by the entry door. The little holder hardly looks like it would work, but our remote rode there on the back of a delivery trailer all the way from Chilliwack to Alabama, so I'm a believer.

The remote has a magnet in it that grabs onto the screws in the wall mount.
