Bathroom Door Warp

Our bathroom door has started to warp. It used to be square and close well. During our Arizona trip, some 5 weeks, we noticed it warping. The top is warping away from the wall. At this time you have to close it by pushing at or above the latch. Not a big problem yet, but if it keeps warping it may become.

Anyone else had this problem? Any solutions? Maybe a few weeks on the Oregon Coast would fix it?

Thanks for any feedback you can offer.

There is a large discussion of this if you do a search. Don't worry as soon as you head home it will return to normal. It is the extreme dry weather that does it. If you need a temporary fix, You can adjust the latch.

I was part of the previous discussion and had a warped door from the top being worst and going down the door. I'm thinking it had something to do with a combo of being in a very dry climate and the door coming open on the road once and bending the hinges. A block of wood and hammer helped. Reace also looked at it last year at Bandon and noticed my wall was slightly warped. He had a door made that contoured to the wall. Try the block of wood trick first.

Cheers,

Greg

Tim & Julie: Thanks. I found the previous discussion. It doesn't seem that unusual.

Greg: Our door hasn't come open while travelling so I doubt the hinges are bent. I'll check next time I get to the trailer. I'd bet most is due to humidity, or lack of.

We're back in Klamath Falls, not humid like the coast but more than Arizona. It'll be wet this week so I'll see if it starts to corrects itself.

One solution would be a new door. One with a aluminium square tube frame. I did something similar on our Shasta to match a curved wall. It'll have to get a lot worse to prompt this though, it'd be a ton of work.

As long as it latches well it'll be fine. If it un-warps with humidity all the better.

Thanks.

So it's a "time warp"?
