Bearing replacement on 3.5K easy lub axle

Have 17 foot escape with single easy lub 3.5K Dexter axle. Want to replace bearings, seal and cups with Dexter parts. Does anyone know a source in Canada for these parts? Many thanks.

Timkens

I do not know about sources in Canada but I can tell you that genuine Timken bearings are available for this axle here in the USA. I do not buy offshore parts if Canadian ( bolts ) or bearings U.S.A. Made are available.

Dexter parts

Yes there is a place in Langley (Pacific Axle)... but they have individual parts and apparently not the kits (K71-717-00). Jeff at ETI says they no longer stock these parts. I can order from the US; but shipping, customs etc. is quite expensive. Thanks for your reply.

I bought mine at North Shore RV Center. Reasonably priced. They ordered them in. Took a couple of days.

Check Amazon.ca, I was able to order Timken bearings and Dexter seals thru the US site so perhaps the Canadian version also has them.

Found the pictures I uploaded on Casita Forum. These were for 3500lb dexter axle with 10 inch brakes on my Casita and believe is the same for current Escape.

You can also download a Timken cross reference guide on-line. Using your bearing numbers you can find the Timken replacement.

Again, or you could just go to North Shore RV and get them.

Bearings for 3.5K easy lub axle

I contacted Dexter Axle in Calgary, as suggested above. Their kit (AX-603-EZ) has the bearings, cones, seal and rubber EZ cup ($33.48); but does not include the cotter pin and tab washer mentioned on the Dexter site under kit K-71-717-00.
When I called they were very helpful (587-323-8411). They have a full Dexter plant there; building the axles from scratch; so they are a great Canadian source for any Dexter parts you might need.
We talked about the Dexter video on bearings and the suggestion to use permatex on the seal before installing. He indicated they never use anything on the seals for the 3.5K axles they are building. Thanks for all the input and I also hope this is useful to others.
