We've found that having one of us in the loft and off to the side of the mattress allows the other one to pull the Escape issued mattress with memory-foam topper back a bout a foot from the camper nose, which makes it easier to install a fitted bottom sheet. Then the mattress can be pushed back and the rest of the tucking can be done from the foot. It's a bit awkward getting onto the mattress if it's pulled back first, but it can be done.
Once the bed is made and slept in, we don't worry much about daily maintenance. Just a smoothing out of the Newfoundland quilt works for us. We've installed a shortened fabric shower curtain across the back of the loft, which is usually pulled shut during the daytime. Out of sight, out of mind. This is
camping and Martha Stewart seldom visits.
