Thanks Brian for that link. I'm not even sure if public radio in many other states broadcast in HD. Wisconsin had the first public radio station and still (well for now anyway) has some of the best statewide coverage. Many people's main desire for HD radio is that it is a higher quality sound (and it does sound very good), but for me it is that we seem to be able to pick it up better in areas where the analog signal is very weak and fades in and out, like at our home, due to the hilly area we live in.

A WiFi router makes this a simple task. You don't need the WAN side (the side with the Internet connection) to share files on the LAN side (the side where connected devices are on the same subnet).

The important part is sharing out the files or folders (either with a simple share or via an application) so others on the same network can access them. Then other devices just use a network file browser (there are many different kinds) and access the share.

Some WiFi routers even come with storage built in or a USB port where you attach a thumb drive with your content, and the router acts as the file server.

Thanks for the input, Robert. It sounds like my thinking was on track. With using the Sonos software, once I share a link to it from my phone, my computer, or any other devices connected on the network through wifi, it makes all those files available for any other network device to play.

I can't imagine that using an inverter to power the Sonos speaker and a router would be a very high draw. The Sonos PLAY:3 speaker draws a maximum of 2A, and no doubt the router draws way less.

Of course, to access any of the millions of songs online, I would have to have access to the internet.

If you want ETI to mount the TV , you bring it to your pick up and orientation and they mount it...the arm they sell holds up to a 22 inch currently

I like the Pioneer or similar idea: compact, 12V, Bluetooth, HD radio. I'll need an auxiliary input for the sound signal from the DVD/BluRay player, and high quality amplifiers. I've been assuming a higher-end unit made for in-dash use would probably be the best thing, but haven't started looking at the options.
