Black tank won't empty!

Ordorless the best for tanks . Also we have always when we can put hose with sprayer on end down the toilet . By doing those 2 things not much problem with sensors . One more thing have found ,to empty after black as sat for awhile so chemical can break things down to liquid . Pat

I have started to add Calgon to the black and grey tank. I don't know how much this helps, but looking down the black tank, it looks factory clean and the sensors are accurate. I use one of those tank cleaners that shoots water in all directions. Plus the dump station that I use has very high water pressure. Loren

The tank cleaner sprayer is the one we use too. We have a short clear piece on end of cleanout on trailer and know everything is clean when water comes out clear . Ours has a water shut off on it too . Found ours at Camping World many years ago . Pat

That sounds like a good thing to try. I put soapy water and 10#s of ice cubes the beginning of this trip to agitate, but obviously it wasn't enough. We do use something to break down sewage, not as toxic as most. It's an older trailer, so the sensors might be crusted by now. Not sure why they started out with such small tanks in 2006, 7.5 gal is not much. Using the portable can be a pain if far from the dump and have to lift into the truck. Oh well, still nice to have the option!

There is a video on YouTube where a guy demonstrates that putting ice cubes in your tank accomplishes nothing. He built a clear plexi tank and filmed it with sludge on the walls and ice cubes in liquid inside. Drove around with the tank in the back of a pickup. The ice just sloshed around and cleaned nothing.
Some cling to home solutions, but I find Odorlos, which was created to solve the problem actually works and is cheaper and easier than buying and mixing Calgon.

I agree with Glen . Buy the powder, fill the tank up , and let it sit for a week or two . Empty and see if that is enough . You could do it again . When you empty the sprayer wand really helps . Linda is inside and we close up the valve , fill tank up the whole time the sprayer is running , then empty . Do this after you have let the Oderless sit in there . Pat
