Coax cable. Any store that sells electronics should have them.

Get a good one that can handle being outdoors. Most are fine, but you want the connector sealed to the cable.

That might bit a wee bit long, no? If you did want lots of length, I would get two shorter lengths, maybe 20' at the most, that way you only have to use what you need, and with a cheap couple could splice them together.

I've been carrying a length ( probably 30' ) of coax around for years. Used it once at Osoyoos. Hooked up to the TV, which then had to program the available channels. After about 20 minutes, it was still doing that when Jim B and probably CPAHarley dropped by to socialize.
I don't know when the programming finally stopped and never did get around to watching TV.

Yeah, sorry about that.

I have only once in my 19 used the cable connected to a campground service, and never in my 5.0TA. I am planning to set up an antenna if wanted though.

We really watch little TV, and then it is usually movies. This past 5 1/2 week trip saw us watch two movies one night, the only time the TV came out of the closet.

I travel with a pair of 12'ers, hooked up to the cable once, the 12' worked okay. I find the screw on connectors a real hassle for my fingers, went to 90 degree quick connect.

Dollar store, 15', works for me. Never used it yet in a campground but I do use my King antenna.

Perhaps a better rule of thumb would be the same length that you carry for your water hose, as the cable, electric and water are normally near one another and that can be from 10 to 20 feet plus depending on model, the length of the trailer as on the 19 the cable is towards the front whereas on the 21, I can't remember.

They are pretty light. They coil up nice. A zip tie will keep them from getting tangled.
I have a 10,20,25 and maybe a couple others. I use one about once or twice a year. Nice on a snowy night in Cheyenne WY and Buffalo WY the year before on our way to Osoyoos.

The classic 19’s have the cable connection just behind the rear wheel. The newer 19’s have it right over the rear wheel. Both on the drivers side near the water and power connections on the trailer which makes sense.

We have a coax cable, but it turns out we've used it maybe twice in 3 years. The vast majority of the places we camp have no connection. It's either OTA or movies on a stick for us - when we bother to watch TV.

Wish we'd nixed the Jack Antenna. We just don't use it much, and it won't lock in the forward position anymore so it looks silly turned sideways.

Yes, I dropped the antenna option after having the Winegard and Jack on my first 2 Escapes and used them minimally. Most cg's have cable now, so with hookups you have tv. Otherwise it's of no use.

Coax tied between a couple of trees also makes a very strong clothes line.............

And if this is hooked to the trailer, you have a cheap OTA antenna setup.

Jim, I disagree a bit. Not sure which campgrounds you are staying at, but I find less than half of the campgrounds I have stayed in have cable, and in many of those that do the cable is not very good. That’s my experience, anyway. And in many places, the broadcast reception (antenna) isn’t very good, either.

I too find it is very rare to have a cable connection in a campground, unless you go to commercial ones, where some have them. Our preference for price, better sites, and location, is always Federal, Provincial or State campgrounds, which sometimes have all the other services, but I have never seen cable at them.
