Not sure when I will next pass through, but if I do I certainly will contact you.

Yes I mounted one permanently in my Boler
The stove works great, although the oven also works as designed it is not thermostatically controlled so you need to constantly monitor the temperature while cooking with it

No different than baking in my BBQ, I have to watch the temps. This requires close monitoring with a glass of wine in hand.

It'd be pretty hard to lug around as a camp stove, but it works nicely in his case as a built-in.
I'm glad you mentioned this. I was thinking about getting it but I check the weight and its 30 something pounds!

Just so everyone who may be interested in a Camp Chef Ranger II knows, Walmart sells them online for @ $92 (US) plus applicable tax depending upon what your location is, with free shipping. I do not know if this applies to Walmart Canada, however.

Unfortunately Walmart.com will not ship to Canada, and Walmart.ca does not carry it. Amazon.ca does, but it is stupidly priced, I could have it shipped from REI or Bass Pro cheaper.

Did a little browsing of the Calgary area stores online Jim. Sheesh! You're right about the prices.

But, you get to live in a pretty nice place, so I guess it evens out.

Yeah, it isn't uncommon for us to either not get lots of product up here, or have to pay a much higher price. This is not the case with everything, but it is for a lot of consumer products.

We definitely do live in a nice place, with a veritable playground between here and the Pacific.

I went and had a close look at the Camp Chef Explorer today. Great looking unit, well built and solid, but it is a bit heavy, and takes up a lot of room. I would have nowhere to store it, unless I was to get a storage box put on the tongue. I won't put any campsite gear in the tow either, as everything to set up camp must be in the trailer. Much easier to use whatever vehicle that way, and it never gets unpacked.
