I love being able to use the numbered keypad for when I don't feel like digging out the key.

If you do get one, sign up for their email list and keep an eye on their facebook page. They have sales quite frequently and especially around any holiday. And I mean any holiday.

Others on this forum also have this lock.

NO, he can't. Glenn and Candy have a 2013 Escape.... a classic and the RV lock you're recommending won't fit/work on the door. Only on the 2nd generation trailers.

Ah, forgot about that aspect.

Well, anyway, for anyone wanting one of their locks, do sign up for their notifications/etc as they have sales all the time. There isn't any reason to pay full price. We got ours during a Black Friday sale (I think) and it was something like 40% off during an incremental sale.

The older trailers can remove the door. We with the new doors can't do that.
So we would either need to slim down enough to fit the new trailers larger hatch or bribe a kid to crawl in and unlock the door from inside.
When we were bringing our trailer back from Chilliwack we had an issue with the door strike plate being installed backwards. As a result it wore a groove in the latch and required so much force to overcome it I assumed the lock was broken. So I removed everything from under the bed and was able to crawl through and found it had the same problem as far as opening it on the inside. But that problem was fixed when I installed the strike plate correctly.

RVLock does make a manual replacement lock. Maybe this fits and is made better than the Fastec and Bauer's?

Let's be clear, remove the hinges off the trailer with the door attached to the hinge, do not remove the hinges off the door. Also there is a weather cover on the slot where the key enters the lock, that is probably what jammed up, broke and fell out and it is held in place with a spring. If the lock is useable then you maybe okay until you get your replacement with the weather cover.

There are some reviews here, but they are mixed. Still not sure it fits the classic door either. It looks wider.

What bothers me Dave is the price is kind of low . That kind of makes me question the quality . Pat
