Clean front box/trash can

Is there anything special needed (or not to be used) to clean the front of the front box?

Here is a biggie: Where do you put your trash can? Or do you have a trash can?
I am thinking we have to have it in the bathroom and take it in and out. Or have one I can stand to look at under the table.

Re: Clean front box/trash can

We have a small waste basket about 14in high by 12in wide by 6in deep. We put a couple of pieces of Velcro on the rim and the opposite Velcro type with sticky backing on the wall between the bathroom and the front dinette bench. We line it with a paper or plastic bag and throw all of our dry trash in that. Wet garbage goes in an old margerine tub which we keep in the fridge and dump it in a proper garbage receptacle daily.

We don't have a front box so can't help with that <g>.

Re: Clean front box/trash can

Our one small plastic waste basket is pleasantly hidden away inside the shallow bottom cabinets below the range (in the Escape 19). Because the cabinet is shallow, the waste basket doesn't move or tip over during travel. We line it with plastic grocery bags and use it for all types of garbage. --Liz

I copied CAVeDweller and Jim Bennett on their trash can idea for the Escape 19 and it has worked great for us.

It's called an "Orbis Beige Kitchen Collector" and I got mine at Crunchy Tire http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en

Re: Clean front box/trash can

We have the Orbis as well. It either hangs out in the bathroom or hangs on an over the door hook that's on the cupboard door under the sink on our 17B. ( On the outside ).
( Just an aside here, when discussing anything related to your trailer, it helps to identify the model ).

I also have a small stainless pail ( and a galvanized one ) that hang out at the picnic table outside. They are just the right size for a 14 l. Kitchen Catcher plastic bag.

And here is the pail. I think it came from Home Hardware.
Speaking of: the Home Hardware in Osoyoos is a must see when you attend the Escape Rally.

Re: Clean front box/trash can

In my 17', I have one of the small oval step-on cans on the door side of the fridge cabinet by the fire extinguisher and a a cottage cheese tub for wet garbage near the sink. I always have a large one that remains outside the door to the side of the step and a container that varies by the tongue for recyclables. With kids, it helps to have trash containers handy.

Hi: Floating Cloud... We use an IKEA flip top white plastic trash can that fits nicely in the cupboard under the drawers. It's easy to open the door and flip up the lid. We reuse the produce bags from the grocery store as they seem to fit it best. Alf

Re: Clean front box/trash can

Thank you for the replies everyone and the photos, Baglo. I like that nice pail with the lid and handle. We haven't seen one. Showed it to my husband and he said, "It looks Canadian.

I thought I wanted a narrow half-sized paper file holder (like the paper filing cabinet boxes) as I want to have it under the table or at the door for when we put trash in from outside or are taking it to dump. Wanted it narrow. Could only find the regular file size except in plastic. I was too cheap to get that but might. May have to wait until we cross the Canadian line somewhere for a really nice pail!

Re: Clean front box/trash can

I spoke too soon, saw Orbis in Canada but now I see that it is in Wisconsin. Won't have to go far looking for that pail!
