Closing your shower drain....
On a recent trip home from camping I was forced to take alternate routes due to road construction. Having a hard map allowed me to take an unknown route. That said for about 15 miles I was going up and down some very steep roads, some with 8-10% grades. Upon reaching civilization and the interstate exit to reenter, I stopped for fuel and went inside the camper. My bathroom floor was floating, so to speak as I had not closed the shower drain and my grey tank must have overflowed into the shower stall. Some pictures of Pennsylvania street grades..
Another reminder list item.

What do you mean, "closed the shower drain" ? How do you close the shower drain?
Is there some kind of 'stopper' you put in the drain hole?

The shower drain screws shut and ETI does not use HepvO valves.

Yes, in our trailer it is the same as the kitchen sink stopper. It is held in with a few turns

On the other hand, twice since April 2011 I've stepped into the bathroom/shower and found an inch or so of water on the floor with the drain closed. Both times the toilet valve failed to completely close, and overflowed. A very slow leak - it took a couple of hours to put an inch of water on the floor. I can't say whether it is better to leave it open or keep it closed, but I keep mine closed. Another reason to shut off the water pump when dry camping & not using water...

My plumbing needs plumbing and therefore plumbing classes.

It's part of those goals and dreams that C.S.Lewis wrote about, I guess.

Since I don't (haven't) used the shower in Ten Forward, the plug is always closed. However, it's also something I remember from my Scamp days. What a mess it can make if left out and towing with full gray water tank! One of the big reasons I always leave the plug closed, is I'd rather the gray water back up into the kitchen sink than the shower pan when the gray water tank is ready to overflow. The kitchen sink is easier to clean. YMMV

We bought a used 21’ And I can’t find a stopper for the shower drain. Is it a special plug or can I just put a sink plug in the drain

A sink plug might work if it stays in place while driving down the road. The stock plug screws into the drain.

Or do this and forget about the plug.

The one for the kitchen sink works well too.

Jon,
How did you determine it was your toilet valve leaking? We have had about a 1/4 inch of water on the shower floor a couple of mornings when the drain valve was closed. I couldn't find any leakage. I thought it might have been condensation, but an intermittent, slow toilet valve leak seems more likely.
