Re: Cover your Escape
We purchased our trailer cover from the remaining stock at Escape Trailers. Appears to be very well made and provides easy access. Since the trailer is parked for the winter, we find ourselves accessing it often to plan or do personal modifications. Since we have the solar panel on top, I was concerned about the aluminum edging around it snagging or wearing through the cover. My hubby wrapped the panel with a nonabsorbent hard foam so the sharp edging is covered.
As you can see by the pictures, the cover is a generous size but tightens down snugly. I expect we'll be going in and out it through the winter, making changes and monitoring moisture/condensation levels. My husband however, seems to be under the impression that "trailer" is another word for MAN CAVE!

Re: Cover your Escape
Speaking of foam....
I have a couple foam tubes that are slit length-wise ( came as packing material - but you can buy pipe insulation that's similar ).
I apply these to my aluminum ladder before leaning it against the Escape when washing the roof.
Protect the Escape and are easy to apply and remove.

Re: Cover your Escape
Yea, but try to find them in late Fall! I ended up using pipe covering to pad the corners...

Just know, you will need to add "moisture" back to the wax to get it off. It won't simply buff off when the time comes... ask me how I know

Re: Cover your Escape
Donna D, I don't intend to buff it off. I hope it adds a little more protection from the surrounding trees when I remove the cover. I only wish that I could add a permanent cover like some people do down Portland way

Re: Cover your Escape
A carport is very nice. On one of the other forums, a Scamp 5th wheel owner has sung the praises of http://www.rejex.com/, he put this stuff all over the nose portion of the trailer and says when he gets home from traveling he just hits it with water and all the bugs, etc. slide right off.
You may want to check it out. I'd think wax left unpolished would attract dirt, etc. rather than protect it.

Re: Cover your Escape
Hi: All...We're getting closer and closer to putting "Our Escape Hatch" under a palm tree in Fla. for the winter. I know it won't be as cheap as a cover...but will include storage for the dishwasher and drier too!!! Alf

Re: Cover your Escape
Miss Donna D, I sure hope you are wrong, but more than likely you are correct. This is the first time I'm trying the left-wax-unbuffed-on-the-roof scheme. Oh, to only have a permanent cover!
