The power is the white wire, not the brown wire (I used the brown at first and had to take it off and reattach to white wire) it is a little tight, there is some play by pulling the cable thru the hole with needle nose, about another i inch. You do not need all the wire on the unit, they provide enough for the power in the rear of the unit, if need be.
I marked the back of the freezer while it was out, cleaned with alcohol and attached the unit. It fits perfect. Attached the ground and done. Maybe 20 minutes.

If anyone is attending the rally here in Pennsylvania in September, I'll be glad to assist in the install for those who maybe timid about these things.

The Fridge Fix was originally designed to reduce the need for defrosting. Even a good working fridge can benefit from that.

I'd be interested to know if these fans help in the cooling process when the rig is parked with the sun on the refrigerator's access panels as well as they do when the sun is not on the access panels (in the shade). Can you do a test on both side of your trailer?
Is the sun on the access panels now? Please...Let me put this crazy notion about shading the panels to rest.

No sun, cloudy, very humid, around 75% and 82 degrees.

I suspect that there are three primary benefits from this fan system;

1. First, the fans continually introduce "new" air to the cooling fins and mix the air in the refrigerator. Therefore the refrigerator cooling system is responding to the average air temperature in the box, not just the air normally trapped in the vicinity of the fins. This I suspect will speed cooling.
2. When the refrigerator is loaded it becomes full of obstructions that block the very slow movement of air inside. Over time with the door opened and closed and new items being introduced it may become very cold around the fins and warm near the door and other areas. Those fans will force the air to circulate all the time, hopefully eliminating "dead air zones". I suspect that this benefit really helps when the refrigerator is loaded.
3. The fans of course keep the fins from freezing over. I think this is a "nice-to-have" benefit but the first two benefits mentioned above are more important.

It will be interesting to see your actual test results. I plan on camping for two weeks starting next Monday and will report back my actual (in the wild) results from the 2 fan system I installed last week.

BTW, I have the two digital sensors for the refrigerator and freezer with the larger digital display unit and always place my sensors on front of the wire racks close to the door. This placement always gives me the worse case inside temperatures readings.

...just my thoughts!...

I place my refer sensor on the door shelf and the freezer sensor lays on freezer bottom any may move with motion. The suction cups do not hold.

Hi Jim,
Does the original refrigerator light still work after you install the Fridge Fix fan assemble? Also if you decide not to run the fans will the lights on the fan assembly still turn on and off as the door is open and closed ?

Yes the original blue light operates with the door while the unit's fans and light is controlled by a switch, independent of the door.
I just checked, after 3.5 hours, the freezer is 16, the refer is 56, operating off 120v, outside is cloudy, 80 degrees, 71% humidity. Note there is a 5 degree differential between door and rear of refer temperature readings.

Jim,
Thanks again for being the first one to blaze the trail for us with the Fridge Fix fan assembly.

Hi Jim,
I am guessing you have been cooling down for three hours?
Are the inside fans running?
Is your weather cool and wet which may effect your test trial?
What is your fridge control set at?
Are you cooling on electric?

I know I am asking a lot of questions but trying to learn if the Fridge Fix has improved your performance.

Just came in for the night, it is currently 74 here with 78% humidity. The freezer is 14, the door is 52 and the rear of refer is 48. I'm on a/c and the fans and lights are on and running, they can not be heard outside the unit, but my hearing is not as good as it used to be. I'll report back in am. The setting is on #3, in the middle.

It is 37 on the door and 34 in the back of the refer with 7 in the freezer. Not bad for little over 12 hours on setting #3. Outside dropped to 69 with 75% humidity…..tomorrows forecast……stay tuned.

I'm thinking I'm getting on setting #3 what I used to get on setting #4. I may turn it back to setting #2 and monitor the range tonight.

It has now been 24 yours, it is holding 40/4 with sensor on door and in freezer, low was 36/1, current temperature is 87 outside and 80 inside unit, temperature reading inside top shelf rear is 32 degrees. So it has not exceeded 40 on the door for past 24 hours while on setting #3 and 120v.
I'd say the fans work by allowing a lower setting in 85 plus degree sunny days.

Good work cpacharley2008, I'm glad the fans are making a difference. I still wonder if the refrigerators temperature would be effected by direct sun on the drivers side refrigerator access panels.
