I ordered the fridge fix today also. I might as well do the whole thing when I pull the fridge so I don't have to wish I had done something else.

Fridge-Fix for Dometic 8551

We have a 21 5.0 TA with the large Dometic 8551. We have been on the road with our trailer for approx 6 weeks. As everyone is aware, the performance of this fridge is borderline acceptable. No matter which mode we use, the lowest temp reached is 38F. In addition, when the door is opened, the temp will shoot up to +45F and takes a long time to come back down. I am using a laboratory rated thermometer to monitor the temps.

We received the Fridge-Fix on 7/28 and I installed it late on 7/29 (install was very easy). 24 hours later the temp in the fridge was 27F. I have to now reduce the temp setting on the fridge !!

Bob. were you using any fan at all before this one such as a portable battery operated fan?

what's the model # for the 4.3 refrig's? Just put the trailer away and the paperwork is in the trailer. Thanks.
