Hi Vermilye,

Did you have much trouble getting a wire through the thermistor hole to the back of the refrigerator? I too contacted the Fridge Fix company and was told they do not build a unit to fit the Dometic 5.0 cubic foot. (RM2510) It measures 17" across the top.

I'm confused since now it is reported that they are building a limited production of 16.25 wide units.

Not sure they are still open, Mike mentioned that the shop was shut down for the long holiday weekend and he was on his way home. Good luck..

These units may work in yours, but you must have a light inside for the power source.

I do not have an inside light but may be able to get power inside my refrigerator through the thermistor hole as suggested by the Fridge Fix website. Access to the back is limited. And that's what I am trying to learn from others.

Mine is a model RM8551 in my 19' and is 4.3cuft; manual energy selection. The RML8555 is the 6.7cuft model with automatic energy selection. If the model number ends with "1" it is manual. "5" mean automatic.

Yes absolutely... This model is a Dometic RM2510 2RX (5 cubic ft.) I was one of the lucky ones that got one of the last, poor performing, discontinued models installed in my Escape. The controls are poor and the cooling is unacceptable down here. Traveling in the summer is stressful. Maybe throwing another $70 into this piece of crap will be an improvement.

I may have missed this point, but would the Fridge-Fix eliminate the need for Escape's Texas Fan? Thanks for any clarification on that.
