It's not like they cover the whole window, they are 8" wide, but I do get your point.

You could use Cpaharley's idea, and leave the stove vent open.

Bob, before you make the investment, find out if you can view a trailer that has them. Even a sticky on a dealers lot! Or, if you do buy them, duct tape them to the window and determine if you can live with the permanently distorted view.

I'll do that. My only concern was they are ugly, hadn't thought about the view.

Our solution to the "window open in the rain" issue was: opening window over the sink (under the awning) and in the bathroom (wet doesn't matter). Those are the two windows we (almost) always leave open.

We open the window in the bathroom and the max fan since it has a cover and water doesn't get it easily. We have the DryMesh under the bed but that was just a pre-emptive measure. We have not experienced condensation in the trailer but we mostly camp in the dry SW. even though the humidity is low, this area does experience hot days with much cooler nights (30 to 40 degree day to night temp drop is common) which might encourage condensation.

Has anyone been successful ordering drymesh for USA delivery recently? If so how?

Hypervent then...

Probably go with Hypervent then. The Drymesh fit the 21' bed better. Hypervent will have to be in two pieces, but at least it is a reputable source here in the US.

We used Hypervent in our 17 and now Drymesh in our 21.
If I ever buy another, it will be Hypervent....it stiffer and stays in place better. You can just tape the pieces together with a fabric tape.

I found this supplier of HyperVent. It looks reputable, has a phone number and
they will ship via USPS. I only skimmed their Policies but did not see if they will ship internationally.

HyperVent is on sale there, too.

Although I live in Canada, I am only an hour from the US border. I use a parcel service just across the line to receive my parcels. I usually wait until I have a few orders waiting for me and then the cost of gas is easily made up by the savings in shipping costs, brokerage fees and often taxes. I have yet to be asked into the Canadian Customs office on my return to Canada to pay any fees or taxes whatsoever. I've only ever brought across a few hundred dollars in goods.

Thanks for the link, iamunique127. I ordered just now by phone at 800.426.6930.

They definitely ship to Canada. Shipping to the USA is free on an order over $100.

The sale price is $10.40 per foot, and the roll is 39" wide. Apparently the stuff is easy to trim and join.

Here's the link again: HyperVent Mattress Pads - HyperVent | Fisheries Supply

Do you put Hypervent around the sides of the bed or behind the seat back cushions?

We got some hyper vent and installed it under the mattress in our 21, and under the seat cushions. There is a bit left, and I was wondering if anyone has tried installing it around the sides of the mattress that touch outside walls, or behind the backs of the seat cushions, and if so, how you make it stay there.

The only place I have noticed condensation in the trailer has been in those places. I can easily eliminate the condensation behind the cushions if I just push them forward a bit so there is space between the cushion and the outside wall.

Thanks for any advice.

Leon

After installing Hypervent under the mattress in our 21", I cut strips of Hypervent 6" wide and a few feet long and placed them between the outside wall and the edge of the mattress on the driver's side and at the head of the bed. Gravity keeps them in place, and we've been condensation-free.

That is what I did, I placed it entirely under and around the mattress to allow it to better air circulation. I also had my mattress cut smaller to allow this.

We placed one of those swimming 'noodles' between the back seat cushions and the walls. They move the bottom of the seat back cushion out just a tad and it makes for a more comfortable angle for the seat back. Easy to cut to fit for length.

Thanks for this idea. Sounds like a good plan.

I always put one of my throw pillows behind my back when sitting at the table. Otherwise, I'm too far from the table even when the slider is pulled all the way my way (single traveler here so I can do that); the pillow eliminates the back-stabbing window frame problem.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, I purchased DryMesh rather than HyperVent. The DryMesh is soft enough (and comes in a sheet wide enough) that I just folded it up at the sides facing the trailer.

I do wish there was still a US supplier - it is a little thinner, lighter, and less expensive than HyperVent. I have sent a couple of "Contact" emails to http://www.marinebedding.com, the people I bought mine from, but have never received a reply.
