Drymesh or hypervent under matress
A few months ago someone posted that they had ordered Drymesh or Hypervent online ( I can't remember which one) for under matress condensation control. Drymesh looks like the best deal, so I've been trying to contact them by phone with no luck. According to their website they will send directly to my address in Canada with a shipping charge, but I don't see any sales tax added to the shipping for B.C. What I'm wondering is if there could be a brokerage fee and B.C. sales tax added on to their shipping charge. I've been caught with this before when ordering from the U.S. and the brokerage fee can be quite high. Has anyone had experience with this company? Thanks.

I have no experience with this particular company, but lots of experience purchasing from other suppliers in the US. Call them directly and get them to agree to ship the items to you via USPS. This will avoid any issues with customs brokerage fees. If they insist on shipping via UPS, even if they pay for shipping, you will most likely be charged for customs brokerage fees on delivery, which can be a pretty significant amount.

I don't know if it was an automatic reply, but when I purchased DryMesh I received the invoice from: PAUL KENNING <Peter@marinebedding.com>
You might try contacting him for information. By the way, it works well...

Would you need to wrap this on all three sides and bottom of your mattress. On my 19 the mattress is 60 by 80 and the DryMesh comes in a 72x78 sheet.

I cut 12" off and had a piece 60x78 for under the mattress and a 12" x 72" which I cut in half again to put around the edges. Worked perfectly

We purchased Dry Mesh and had no tax or brokerage fees. It arrived via Canada Post so I'm guessing they used the US Postal Service.

Thanks Jim , did you attach it somehow or just place it under and against the walls of the trailer.

Did not attach, it is a tight fit anyway around the perimeter and the bottom piece will not move. I asked Escape to cut my mattress 1" smaller on the 21' to allow me room around the front and one side.

I didn't use the phone number, but used the on line order form here.

I have tried phoning and emailing the U.S. drymesh supplier with no luck. When I emailed the U.K. email address it came back as a failed email delivery. Makes me wonder if they have gone out of business, and I'm reluctant to put in an on line order if I can't contact anyone. Has anyone done a recent transaction with this company? I'm thinking of going with hypervent even though it is a bit more money. I spoke with a salesperson on the phone and I know they are not going to do a disappearing act. The hypervent is also a bit thicker so possibly even more ventilation.

I bought a roll of DryMesh in October. It arrived quickly - no problem with the transaction.
Hypervent is thicker and stiffer, so it probably does offer more ventilation. Not sure how we'll it ships tho'.... I bought mine locally from the mattress company that built the mattress for my 17B.

I purchased a roll several weeks ago from the web site. No problems with the transaction and delivered by UPS a week or so after the order was placed.

A follow up to ordering drymesh online for Canadian customers. Our 87.45 U.S. purchase which we thought would be sent USPS, was sent by courier and cost an extra 41.00 for brokerage fees and taxes.

Ah, the "brokerage fee" scam, run by essential all courier companies. This is the biggest single reason I order almost nothing online, in particular from U.S. suppliers... most do not offer (and guarantee they'll use) delivery by USPS/Canada Post.

Ours came from the same company via Canada Post - without request - and no extra charge. The yarn company in WA I use ships by USPS/Canada Post but they still collect duty. Maybe this company just got caught not doing what it's supposed to do!
I hate it when companies aren't up front about what it will cost in total.

The internet is the world's "Angie List" where one can post reviews of companies, good or bad. Sooner or later the bad ones will improve or not survive.
