It's always easy to comment on someone else's efforts, which of course I'm about to do. After using the plastic version of these and often being perched as high as possible on them when trying to get the trailer level, I think I'd flatten or round that sharp edge on the top. When I see the back edge of the plastic ones deforming the tire tread, I feel some empathy for what the tire must be experiencing.

I like plastic and metal. Matches my shiny rims although my old yellow chalks do clash.

Well you recommend those orange levelers that messed up my colors.

But I do like them.

Isn't it "Fusion" plastic-compatible Krylon paint that can fix that?

If you are going to use Krylon Fusion, take your glasses off ( ones with plastic lenses ) or wear goggles.
Fusion really does stick to plastics.

Still probably not as bad as our red chocks with the orange ramps. Maybe we need wood ramps like Myron!

But Myron paints Some of his wood stuff red. I recall seeing that handy-dandy outside step, all in red, that I want to copy.

Tom, did you remove your hub covers, I notice your e-z-lube axles in the pictures.

Yes I did. I removed them when I first got the trailer and installed a TPMS. I like to have access to the hubs to be able to feel them or shoot the temps with a infared thermometer while traveling. That's the reason I have the EZ lube axles too in case I want to peek in. I don't use them for lubeing.

Good catch Jim, after 1 1/2 years your the first to notice that I removed them.

Glenn, you sound experienced in painting glasses. Thanks for the tip because it sounds like something I would do.

I was wondering why my hubs never felt even warm when I felt them, I was not really anywhere near them. I'll remove the cap cover end and try it that way. I doubt I can even remove the wheels, the lugs are so tight.

If the hubs are running really warm, the wheels near the centre should feel warm, even though the centre caps don't - after all, the wheels are solidly bolted to the hubs.

If you really mean the BAL, you need two because of the tandem axle.

There are a lot of BAL products, and a lot of them are related to leveling (including the C-Jacks installed by Escape). I'm pretty sure Donna is referring to the Light Trailer Tire Leveler, and presumably Bruce is, too. Yes, you would need two with a tandem-axle trailer.

Also use these and like them and agree sometimes they could be higher. At last campsite recently I stupidly placed them on top of the yellow plastic lego stack and when I unhitched it slid sideways. Was very luck to have been able to get the tongue back on the ball and it took two men standing on the bumper. Did figure out that I could use the orange ramps to get up onto a nice shaped rock for the front and then the four yellow blocks on the rear.

Sort of like putting a step ladder on a chair, precarious.
