I can not find anywhere printed instructions for installing the optional screen room. Is is on line someplace? Thanks for any help.

Re: Escape 19' screen room instructions

I received these instructions from Tammy:

Step 1. open awning and remove the strap by sliding it down the awning tube towards the rear of the trailer.

Step 2. take all of the pieces out of the bag. You are looking for the two large pieces with screen material.

Step 3. Take the Hold the screen so that the zipper is in your right hand and the corner is in your left with the side panel hanging down. (Look to ensure you have the inside facing you)

Step 4. Slide the top of the screen room into the track you removed the strap from. Stop when zipper is aligned with pencil mark on inside of tube.

Step 5. Take hold of the second large screen so that the zipper is in your left hand and the corner is in your right hand with the side panel hanging down.

If you have done this correctly you should be able to do the zipper up.

Now take the metal poles and assemble them.

If you pick up the side panel you will see on the inside there is a sleeve for the pole to slide through. Insert the pole into the sleeve so that the point is towards the awning tube and the flat end faces the trailer. Insert the pointed end into the hole on the back side of the awning tube and slide the flat end up along the top of the underside of the awning so that it fits onto the ledge just below the top of the awning. (The pole has a spring in it but this will be a tight fit.) Repeat for other side.

Now you have two remaining pieces for the screen room. The smaller one will snap into place covering the tire and the longer one will cover the side of the trailer..

Re: Escape 19' screen room instructions

I agree with the steps posted above. It only takes me approx 5 minutes to get it set up now but took a little bit longer the first couple of times.

One hint regarding the side poles being a tight fit, put the point end in the awning first (as was suggested above). Angle the flat end of the pole down so you can easily swing it either out or in a little - as opposed to raising it straight up. By pushing it out or in a little, you can raise it to the proper height and then slide it into place easier. If you align it first, it's harder to slide it up into place due to the tight fit.

This may sound convoluted to read but will hopefully be more clear and make sense when you are actually going thru the process of installing the screen room.

Re: Escape 19' screen room instructions

So the zipper is located in the middle of the room and awning? Are there zippers on the side panels to attach to the awning panels? Thanks for your help.

Re: Escape 19' screen room instructions

Hi: All... Sitting here in N.S. with a dinette view of the Bay of Fundy. Looking at the white caps and pointing towards Saint John N.B. Donna D's right when she wants the dinette view to the rear!!!
The info on the screen room sounds right. We've only used ours twice and don't need it today as the bugs can't fly against the on shore wind here. Alf
escape artist N.S. of Lake Erie p.s. Jim...Only two panels L hand R hand. They bend round the corner at the ends of the awning tube then dome snap to the side of the trailer...top& bottom. Alf
