Exit/escape hatch over bed in the 5er
Has anyone had any problems with leaks/ water coming in onto the bed in the 5th wheels - from the exit hatch over the bed while the hatch was closed? Is this a common problem?

So far so good...no leaks. It's has turned a ugly yellow though. I would have opted not to have an escape hatch had that been possible. I find it noisy sleeping so close under the escape hatch during a heavy rain.

Hi: Chapitre... No leaks so far, but we did have ETI change out the mattress. Seems the person washing "Escape Hatch II" before we took delivery left it open a bit!!! OOps.
Only trouble we had is that the "Moonroof" turns into a "Sunroof" at 04:30 am in the mountain summer!!! Alf

A little Reflectix panel solves that easily....

Since my trailer is brand new, I got that eyeful of bright moon light both nights I slept in Ten Forward. Gotta do something about that. It wouldn't be a problem if camping away from light pollution. But most campgrounds are pretty well lit at night, roads, walkways, etc. Until the vent covers age, I think I'll be hanging a curtain.

Just give them a couple of coats of Krylon Fusion paint to both prevent yellowing AND cut down on the bright light..........

Charlie, I thought about that. But truly enjoy the bright light during the day and THAT I don't want to go away. If UVs were a major problem where I live, I'd get out the Fusion.

We like the light during the day also and dark at night, that's why we use the piece of Reflectix 'press to fit' panel. It is quick and easy to put up and take down as desired.

We like the light too, but still want to protect the plastic from UV, so I'll be spraying ours with Krylon Fusion Clear - which has UV blockers in it. Figure 2 or 3 coats should take care of the issue for a few years.

I'd use "303" before using paint, clear or not. 303 Aerospace Cleaner,303 Aerospace Protectant, 303 products
