Driver's side front is the standard location. We chose to leave it there and glad we did because anytime you are not filling a container, that water is on the ground which I would not want on the door and mat side. Some people are used to using water on the door side that primarily goes into containers.

Because ours is primarily used to wash dishes in dish pans (1wash, 1 rinse) larger and therefore more convenient than the Escape's sink, and the couled hose provides the ability to move the shower head from underneath the awning (closer to the rear if the trailer and not on the mat; same place the ground would be wet if it rained) this has not been an issue for us. We never used the outside shower on a previous trailer that was on the back side, but we do use the current shower on the door side. So I would say location is a matter of personal preference and what any individual(s) find acceptable.

Yeah, do let us know how they perform, and maybe some links to what your got.

Hearing Dave's tarp idea for a bit of privacy, I was wondering about making some kind of simple hoop that attached to the trailer with suction cups, using something like a fibreglass tent pole section. Then use a lightweight shower curtain to keep your bits hidden from those passing by, if that was a concern.

That is exactly the same concept that I have considered but never implemented. I was thinking that something akin to a kids hula hoop would work, and like you thought about suction cups, possibly with the outer side of the hoop supported by a cord strung back over top of the trailer and attached to the awning bracket. Then you could just string a shower curtain on the hoop and your all set for open air showers.

we bought a 'Trekker fold-a-privy-privacy shelter. We plan to use it beside the trailer on the drivers side- where our shower is located.

Trekker Fold-A-Privy : Cabela's

The floor is removable and we plan to use it as a shower stall. Likely we'll need to replace the shower hose with a longer one.

The 'stall' folds flat into a bag that is about 30" across (round), weighs about 3 lbs, and has integral built in pop-up poles.

Has anyone else tried this product?

Sound good, except if the wind comes up while showering.

That's the blow dryer.

If one wants a shower enclosure for outside shower there is no need to reinvent the wheel there are tons of them at all price points.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_no...ds=shower+tent
We have one of these for solar shower we had years ago and they work great. I just wear shorts when using the outside shower, so someone can buy mine at Quartzsite if you're there.

I had outside shower on our previous TAB trailer and loved it so much we got one our new Escape 17B. We boondock a lot and its wonderful to at least wash your hair with. Using the outside shower also saves space in your holding tank. I remember one long travel day and camping in Death Valley, my outside shower that night was exquisite! It all depends on your life style on the road.

Thanks to all for your input on the shower, it really helped to see the pictures and have the voices of experience. I'm so excited to be joining the group of people that own an "Escape"- it reaffirms our great decision

Hi Carl,

Thank you very much for attaching the picture of the non-default outside shower location.

Not sure if this was true on your build, but currently ETI will install the outside shower on a 21 in 2 locations, non-door side/Driver side, front corner(the default), or where you have it installed, Door side, passenger rear corner.

It really helps to have a picture of the non-default location.

Another option to the build sheet.......cha-ching.

I wanted to let folks know regarding what is on the new outside shower on our new 21that we picked up in July- a quick disconnect with a hose nozzle. It's pretty cheap. Ok if you want to wash the car, but lousy if you want to take a shower. I now need to find a shower head that will fit on the hose bib end that the hose nozzle screws on to.

Isn't it standard 1/2" threaded stuff ?

If you mean garden hose thread, that's 3/4" (with an oddball thread pitch of 11.5 TPI). That's quite different from (and much larger than) the thread normally used to attach shower heads to shower hoses.
