First DAMAGE! AURGH! (Ripped paper off trim)

Well... Command Hook Fail! We were trying to hang a clock on the wall using the velcro command sticky and it kept falling off, so we moved it to the trim piece between the bathroom and dinette. stayed a while, and then FELL OFF Taking a piece of the woodgrain paper off with it! I'm just !!
Is there a way to repair? Cover? Something I don't have any oak grain tape lying around! Feeling stupid.
Help?
Amy

Amy,

When I was at ETI last month, I bought some trim and paneling. When they (Nigel) gave it to me, he also gave me a length of what he called "magic tape." It's one-inch wide tape that has the identical pattern on it as the faux wood paneling. ETI uses it where they have two pieces butted together. If your tear is relatively small, this might be the easiest route. It matches perfectly and by next summer, you won't even know it's there.

Just give ETI a call and have them drop some in the mail for you. It works very well at disguising "oops".

And, read and save the instructions that come with 3M Command products.
If you try to remove them the wrong way, you will cause damage.
That's why I have a Command hook where I don't want it. It's covering up the damage I did.
I've not tried their Velcro products, but I wouldn't expect Velcro to hold anything up for long, especially if it gets warm.

Had our first, and 2nd, damage this fall. Ran over something on the road, kicked up and took out some of the foam on the fresh water tank, might be another reason to get the foam. 2nd was rolling off the levelers without putting up the stabilizers.

We use the Command Velcro adhesive strips to hold up the thermometers, got to be removable to change batteries. So far so good.

If it is just one trim piece, you can just replace it with real oak with a clear urethane finish. I did that along the floor and on corners in my 19, when replacing the flooring. You can't really tell a difference, except the real wood is tougher.
