Fresh water fill / or not

For the second time this season, I've filled the fresh water tank to the point that water is spewing out of the vent and from the filler. And, still, the monitor reads 2/3 full. Can't get the top ( full ) light to light up.
Any ideas?

Yup. It is.
I need to check if there is a kink in the hose, inside the trailer. But, if there was, you wouldn't think it would fill most of the way and only then start backing up.

Glenn,

There are 4 screws on the fresh water tank with 4 different colored wires coming from them that are connected to the device that reports tank water level. Check that the wires are connected and tight. On my 19' they are located under the trailer near the water fill port.

Everything checks out on the sensor wires. When I pressed the monitor button again ( after jiggling the wires ) the top light flashed on briefly ( fraction of a second ). I'm sure the tank is full and I have another 5 gal. container, so I'm not worried about running out of water. Just curious.

You can visually see the water in your tank with a flashlight to verify that it is covering the top sensor. Are you putting un-softened, untreated tap water into your water tank? You also might want to ask someone else to push the panel button while you move the wires around...and I would put a test lead across the top and bottom sensors to verify that the system works and there is no break in the top wire anywhere.

Pure Vancouver water ( chlorinated ), from the tap. I'll get my buddy to check the sensor next week at camp.

We had the same problem. It will either be the resistor pigtail (at the tank) or the circuit board on the panel. I am attempting to include a couple of files to help you sort it out. (It's not the water )

Glenn, based on the troubleshooting guide, you don't want to short the sensing wires as I previously suggested....

I posed the same question to Doug last week---same thing and I don't know where a sensor would be with that either...

Glenn,

I seem to recall you having this problem last year. Intermitent problems are hard to solve. After dealing with my tank monitor problems, I found the system to be frail and cheesy.

For me it drove home the fact that simple camping is the most enjoyable.
Don't let technology ruin your day!
