Fridge doesnt work on 120v
Hey all, as the title suggests. My fridge doesnt work on 120v. There is this black wire disconnected. Any idea as to where it should go. It looked soldered and broke?

Need the model of the fridge and either pictures of the wire or a much better description. By the way, can you add the trailer model to you profile? still shows n/a.

It may sound silly, but I would first try resetting the breaker, turning it right off then back on.
Otherwise, if you don't get 120V at the fridge, I would just trace out the wire from either end to see if you can find the culprit. Heck, it could even be that the connection to the breaker was not tightened, I have seen that in a few panels. Seeing the fridge is alone on it's circuit, I would imagine it is just a single wire, maybe it go accidentally cut somewhere.

Looks like a ground wire. Maybe you can narrow it down with the wiring schematic.

If anyone has the same fridge I'd sure appreciate popping up the cover and snapping a pic. Its the thicker black wire..

It looks like both the red wire and the loose black wire got pulled out of the boot. Try taking off the rubber boot to see if you can find the terminals.
The 120v heating element has a red and a black wire. The 12v heating element has two blacks. It looks like the 12v wires are still in place (does it work on 12v?), but somehow the 120v wires were disconnected.

Sorry, I erred on black and red going to 120v. According to Rubicon’s diagram, they go to 12v. A pair of black wires go to 120v. Look at components J and K in the diagram.

No worries, both power sources will be disconnected.
Thanks!

The back of my fridge, although the same model, doesn’t look exactly like yours. So, I am hesitant to offer any electrical advice. The wiring on mine conforms to the schematic Rubicon posted on #5 of this thread. I have not taken off a rubber boot covering the heating element so I cannot say what the terminals look like. On your pictures I cannot clearly see two heating elements, one for 12v and one for 120v. On my fridge one element is above the other with two wires to each one. On mine the two black wires from the 120v element run to the bottom of the main board, per the schematic. Sorry that I can’t be of more help.
