Frig. Door fell Off ?

Good Morning Escape Owners - ( 2013 15A ) I had the Frig door fall off .....
I remember this topic being discussed on the Fourm or at the Ralley ?? ......
The top pin seems to have no stability ( Wobbles ) I adjusted the threaded bottom
Pin and that did not correct the issue -
I have the Trailer put away for the Winter But do want the solution and necessary
parts waiting for Spring ! - If anyone has had this same issue I would appreciate
your input .......Regards Missoula Studio

Little House Casita (Larry Gamble) sells a kit for repairing or preventing damage to the upper refrigerator door hinge. I installed the kit on my refrigerator . Fast, easy install

I might say worse words than 'frig', if my fridge door fell off.

Bill and Earline had the top freezer door come off the RMD 8555, the pin fell inside the channel. He was able to remove and reinstall correctly and it had held

First re the wobbly pin: I have the 3cu model 2354, which had that wobbly upper hinge issue. The hinge pin threads were worn down so that it could not be tightened in the hinge. I ended up ordering both the upper hinge pin and the hinge, being I was uncertain about the condition of the hinge threads. Wobbly problem solved - though it needs to be retightened periodically. Re door falling off: Mine hasn't opened inadvertently since I shimmed the thumb latch and secured the door with a bungy - and keeping the hinge pins tight helps.

All of this, and following Reace's admonition to NEVER travel with anything in the door. So far, so good.

We always travelled with lots of stuff in the door, mostly drinks, and only once had a problem, which was a failing latch. Once I fixed that, it was always fine.

This was in the no longer used 5 cf though.

the first time our refrigerator door fell off we took it to an authorized dealer who got us a new door at no charge. The second time it fell off, the repair shop offered to get us a new refrigerator (RM2354) if we paid the installation. The RM2354 is smaller than the 4.3 but we are happy we made the change especially since so many people have been unhappy with the cooling of the 4.3. We never got a chance to experience hot temps with the old refrigerator but have had the new one in mid 90's without any problems.
