Front Window Leak
Rained all night here in Tofino. We normally don't camp much in the rain. A front window leak I thought I had fixed from a few years ago has reappeared, water dripping on the bottom driver's side.
I previously sealed all the mating surfaces of the window assembly with marine caulk, and the running lights as well. I'm stumped. any ideas or suggestions as to the leak source? Fortunately, we camp with lots of old dry towels, we'll be OK for now.

I had to pull the front window on my 2009 19 for collision repair to tge fiberglass, and it was possibly the most secure bedding job I have seen. There were 2 full lines of butyl tape on the flange, which works out to about two softball sized gobs.
I wonder if there's any possibility what you have is condensation? Was the trailer closed up tight? If that isn't it, you might try taking a hose to it and looking for leaks. It could be in the inner, window grommet, but probably not the outer flange.

Which front window do you have?
Mine is opening. Soon after I got my trailer, that style window was no longer available with rock guard from the manufacturer and ETI had to go to non-opening window.

I was wondering that too. My 2009 19 had the dual glazed, sliding front window too, but it was pretty much the last one. Never had any leak issues with it though.

I too have the opening front window on my 2008 17b. Sometimes the rain makes its way into the trailer if the window is open and the rock guard is up. I keep planning to put those gutters up.

Check out Captain Tolleys, it's been finding and sealing my leaks for years. I put some on a suspected spot and if it doesn't 'creep' in I clean it off with a damp paper towel and move on until I see it 'wick' into a crack or hole.

I have the non-opening window. The leak is much more than just condensation.

Jim, are you sure the older front windows were double glazed? I have DG windows everywhere except the front.

Hi Bruce
I just had a trailer come in with the same problem. In this case, the seal between the glass and the aluminum frame has failed. If you go inside and press on the glass along the bottom you will see the glass moving slightly from the frame.
If this is the case, you can take it to an automotive window shop and they should easily be able to reseal the glass
Hope that is all it is

Update:
I got the front window leak fixed today. As Reace advised, it was caused by failure of the seal between the glass and frame. Two hours labor. $150, water tested, lifetime guarantee. At least that's done.

Hi Bruce. I know it was a while ago but can I ask where you got the window leak fixed? We are on Vancouver Island and have a similar leak that needs to be addressed.
