Gaucho Bunk Option
Here is a photo of the gaucho bunk option on the 19'. Anchor points need to be fiberglassed in the early phase of production. Thanks to Tammy for sending this.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
Thanks for posting the photo, Edgar. We've ordered the gaucho bunk option for our 19. I've been waiting to finally see a pic of the new cot style gaucho that they're starting to put in the 19s. Tammy had recently told us they had a 19 being built soon & that pics would be forthcoming. Supposedly the weight capacity is now up to 200 lbs for the new cot/bunk. I'll be curious to hear how comfortable it is as well.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
That is disappointing to say the least!
I do not consider that an extra bed for the kiddlet.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
The way this Gaucho bed option connects is incredible. The connecting blocks are fiberglassed to the camper shell so they'll never come off. The cot like design makes storing this extra bed a piece of cake. My 18 year old already claimed the this upper bunk. Thought the weight capacity was 250# (not sure.)
I suppose a handy person could build a solid platform bed to attach to the same connecting points but how do you store it at breakfast time?

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
I think this is a great idea if you need the extra bed space. Do the poles break down in length for storage?

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
This type is for the 19 only is that correct? The 17 still has the flip up back rest type.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
I imagine it could be adapted to any model.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
I have never seent this bunk option before. Is it like a cot that has no bars under the bottom. Just the front and back bar? It's nice you can take it out of there when not needed.

Re: Gaucho Bunk Option
Just spoke with Reace for more info on the gaucho bunk.
Two horizontal poles are made of steel. Each pole is made of two parts where one slides about 6 inches into the other to form a length spanning the trailer. Once taken off the wall brackets, the poles are slid apart and the bunk can be folding in half, rolled up and stored under the dining room bench. Very clever.
Reace told me that he could easily sit on one side when climbing out of the bunk. He believes the bunk could actually hold 400# but wanted to spec the capacity at 200#.
This gaucho bunk design exclusive to the 19'. The photo that I posted earlier is the first one ever made. Looking forward to seeing ours on Thursday.
