I really liked my Honda Handi 3000. Weight 78lbs. However I recently sold it as I did not need that much power. A previous RV had a 13.5 btu AC so I needed it especially at altitude.
Since my 19 has the smaller 11.5 AC I plan to get the new Honda 2200. Not everyday a manufacturer comes out with a new, better product at the same price as the older model.

Let me know what you think of the new 2200. Suspect it’s a winner

My understanding is a 2000 will run a 11.5 btu ac, but not much else at the same time. And once u add altitude, say above 5000 feet u r close to or at its limit. But at a higher alitude, one needs AC less, especially at night.

Runs mine (on a 21) quite well.

It will but it’s a stretch. I run two 2000 Honda generators wired in parallel on both my power boat and my RV.

The Westinghouse iGEN 2500 has been a very pleasant surprise for us. It's noise level is (to the "naked ear") indistinguishable from the Honda 2000, and it happily runs the AC... which of course solar panels won't do! Plus, it's $500 less than the Honda.

I've been looking at the iGen online along with a couple others with similar specs. Thanks for the review. Always good to hear from folks with firsthand experience.

Generator

Last fall we bought a Firman from Costco. It surges to 3.2 Kw and runs at 2.9 Kw. Including delivery it was $550 with a 1 year warranty from Costco. At the time of ordering we had a '96 Casita SD 17' with the in the closet AC. That AC was a window unit that Casita selected to fit inside the lower closet and was vented outside. It cooled the trailer well and was rated as 12,000 BTU. We could run it on 15 Amp shorepower. Initially, we bought a Yamaha 2400 generator, but the AC would not run, if we left the AC on full power the Yamaha eventually started surging after 5-10 minutes run time, then would die. We sold the Yamaha at a significant loss. We bought the Firman with fingers crossed, but the Firman surges to 3.2 Kw when the AC starts, kept up with the load with the AC running at full power. We did have problems if the AC was in Eco Mode, which started and stopped running. The window unit AC had no soft start, hard start, nothing...it was just a cheap window unit. The Firman generator is online at Costco.com. It is serviced in Peoria, AC and we found them very helpful. We live at 5000' elevation, the generator comes with a gasoline jet for sea level to 4000' elevation. We told them we live at 5000' and could camp at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon at 9000'. They sent us 2 additional jets for free. We think they have good customer service. The dB rating is about 55, very slightly louder than the Yamaha 2400.
